The numbers will be increased more than just the class we sign of freshman, we will also have up to 7 transfers even if we sign a full class

What if we win? Is it still a low point?
Were you around for the Hallman years?

Op is a youngster.
One of the high points of LSU football in my lifetime was LSU making the 1995 Independence bowl after nearly a decade of consecutive losing seasons. I was in the nearly empty stadium as USM made a FG to beat LSU end the Curley Hallman error. Don't even try to talk to me about all time low points. 1995-2021 has been the all time glory years of LSU football. I couldn't even dream of a National Title much less 4 appearances and 3 Titles over the next 25 years as I sat in the stadium in 1994. In 1995 LSU won its first bowl game since 1987 which was its first bowl win since 1979 which was its first bowl win since 1971. From 1970 to 1994 LSU was 3 - 10 in bowl games. LSU unbelievably went to 20 straight bowl games from 2000-2019 (until self imposing sanctions in 2020) with a record of 14 - 7.
Tonight is a great developmental opportunity for this team going forward.
I wonder how many of the so called LSU fans bitching about players opting out of bowl games opted out of attending the Texas bowl this year????

Hallman's last home game as LSU coach came against his former employer, Southern Mississippi. Hallman was named LSU's coach in November 1990 after leading the Golden Eagles to 26 victories over three seasons, mostly on the strength of future Super Bowl winning quarterback Brett Favre. Southern Miss' 20–18 victory over LSU came in front of the smallest home crowd at Tiger Stadium since 1974. The paid attendance was 51,710, but most LSU officials placed the actual crowd in the neighborhood of 40,000.
Three days after the loss to Southern Miss, LSU announced Hallman's firing. The Tigers closed the season with victories over Tulane and Arkansas, but Hallman still left Baton Rouge with the poorest record (16-28, .364) of any coach in school history.

Never underestimate the resolve of a " Band of Brothers" with their backs against the wall and the odds totally against them. Kinda like LSU vs USC in "79. Can make for great theater and great game. Will be watching and cheering regardless. Only thing we got going fir us is it's K State not USC. Anything can happen.

Then don't watch now and don't jump back on the band wagon when we are back on top. You are either in or out. Why don't you grow a pair and support these kids who are staying the course and the coaches who have kept their committment to the program. And you might want to support the interim HC for this game because he is on the staff coming back.

I want some no name, walk on player to light it up tonight!!!

I was a student for Hallman’s last two seasons. All home games attended. He managed to field a full team of scholarship players. No disrespect to kids playing tonight intended but there have been better spring game teams fielded. What’s happening tonight is pretty remarkably bad.

I think we will see some players that want to play their Butts off and have some fun to win a bowl game .

I would like this team's chances vs any of Hallman's full teams. Half of his players shouldn't have been on an SEC football scholarship.

I view 2020 Bama as our bottom.
No way that losing 55-17 to the eventual national champion with a roster depleted due to COVID opt outs and an unprecedented talent drain from the previous year's NC roster was worse than losing 58-3 to Florida at home. Spurrier actually had to apologize to Hallman for the score "getting out of hand".

Was the 1999 team really that talented?
With Rohan running the show, yes. Just look at what they did to Arkansas to end the season.

We have finished seasons with 3 wins before.
