All I know is that Jay Johnson is going to fix it.

The guy is a winner everywhere he’s been and taken Arizona to the national championship. He made Nevada, who had zero history, a 40+ winner.

He’s two years older than Vitello and has accomplished more and more than most coaches have at his age. With marucci and the NIL working in LSU’s favor, it’s nice knowing we are going to be an annual contender, even if this season doesn’t go as planned.

I’m not saying he doesn’t deserve any scrutiny, but it’s a relief knowing we have a tenacious recruiter and young winner leading the program. If Wes or any particular coach is a detriment he’s going to fix the problem.

That’s all I got, baw

Edit: my post is about the future and going forward. I don’t think we can save this depleted staff but if it’s personnel or coaching, he’s going to address it.

Jay better have this team back in Omaha by the end of next season or he can go back to fricking Arizona where he came from. Better take those weak arse bullpen arms with him too.

He’s got us well positioned for a national seed, so he can’t be fricking up that much.

He's just going to pull pitchers out of his arse?

Put me in the other camp. I think the job is too big for him.

We just lost to the worst team in the conference. Why? We don't have a single reliable arm after Skenes and our defense is atrocious. His teams are built to out slug the opposition and that isn't going to work consistently without good pitching and defense. Jones should not be at first. White should not be at third. He is a DH all day long in the league. Our bullpen is an abomination.

This team was coronated by fans before it played an inning. Then it ran into reality and pitching issues. Still a good team and LSU baseball is in better shape than it has been in a few years.

I didn’t say anything about being elated if we don’t make it to Omaha.

How many elite coaches with stacked teams don’t make it? Never seen a team as loaded as Tennessee last season and didn’t make it. Arkansas was the #1 seed two years ago and didn’t make it. Corbin at Vanderbilt has squandered better rosters than what we have. I guess they’re all losers? Lmao what?

It’s ironically having a winner’s mentality knowing lsu is always going to be loaded and in the hunt with Johnson. But sure that’s a loser mentality

I’m surprised at the downvotes. The majority of this board has given up on our coach because of this series. That’s insane to me

I don't blame Jay Johnson.

But, this can't be fixed.

He took Arizona to the national championship so I’m pretty sure his ultimate goals work.

He’s had one full off season to fill his roster and fans are irate we have talent deficiencies. If this were year 3 or mainly 4 and this were the case we should all be concerned.

The guy would never launch his team under the bus and would never admit this isn’t his ideal roster. It’s like 2008 Alabama football. Turned it around fast and came up short missing key pieces. It’s called a rebuilding process.

Again if this were the situation in year 3-4 he should be facing some heat. He’s won everywhere he’s been so I don’t see why that won’t be the case at LSU.

I understand everyone’s concerns, but we gotta let things play out , especially in baseball. Those in game decisions can balance out during The duration of the year.

I agree. There are at least 11 SEC teams that would trade places with is today.

White wouldn’t be at LSU if he wasn’t guaranteed an infield position. His offense has more than made up for the fielding errors.
