Plus, being number 1, you get lots of teams best game. Hard to hold on all season to #1.

not so sure this is as much of a slump as it is the collection of warts coming to the surface.

It will be so nice to lose this designation tomorrow. This board’s obsession with being ranked #1 is nauseating.

we may not.

Only team that could jump us is Wake Forest. Was a series win over Boston College enough for them to do that. Outside of them no-one will jump us.

Slump??? Too many walks, bad defensive plays, bats going cold.

D1 Baseball head guy has already said Wake is jumping LSU in their rankings

I think we all saw where the floor is for this team.

Good news is that only a half game out of 1st in the West and SEC with the two teams ahead still having to play each other.

Really need to sweep State next week.

They’ve been waiting all season for a reason to drop LSU.

The pitching staff as a whole is not in a slump; they are just not very good.

Hitting slumped this weekend. Pitching just flat out sucks for the most part outside of Skenes

Well a slump is when you do worst than you normally do - they did worst regardless and of the starting point

Sometimes especially in baseball the things just don't go your way. The truth was the series was lost on Saturday when we had the bases loaded no outs with Crews up and we only get 1 run. More often than not with that part of the lineup up in that situation we put up a big inning putting the game out of reach.

Pitching was pretty much the exact same as it has been.

Not the walks and inability to throw strikes.

Then tell us your opinion on the other top 5 SEC teams that looked like trash instead of singling out LSU

They may have lost all 3 games if not for Skenes. That's not good for a No. 1 team in the country

Every other top team in the conference has been swept at least once. They also have all lost at least 2 series.

It’s impossible to avoid a slump in a league like the SEC unless you have a super team. You might see it sometimes with teams out west but not in the SEC.

So you expect series where they score only 11 runs in 3 games to become the norm?
