it's not a certainty he has no room to be drafted higher next year
I listed the reasons why he probably WOULD be drafted higher. Still wouldn't equate to more money than he will make right now though.

Jom,
Call back in 30 minutes. He'll sign.
And by the way, it's "Jim"...

Trust me if he goes 12-2 that's how it works.

that would all depend on how big a jump he could theoretically make. If he jumped into the top 15-20, he could potentially make every bit as much, if not more. Generally speaking, yes it would take a fairly significant jump for him to receive a higher compensation were he not to sign.

The cubs won't let him walk. No way

I think he signs last minute but holy shite, did anyone see this coming?

Leverage in the MLB draft means you have other options to keep playing baseball. Seniors don't have that. It's either sign or go find a job in the real world. So no, he wouldn't have leverage as a senior

What is his leverage exactly
You clearly don't know how this works

Someone in the Huddle said the cubs are trying to go after an international prospect instead?

As a Cubs fan as well if it's Ohtani they're going after instead of Lange I would cream myself

Find it interesting that 2nd overall pick Hunter Greene still hasn't signed with the Reds yet either. Several top 10 rounds guys are waiting till the deadline. 1 5th round pick already said he was going to South Alabama over the MLB draft.

Be pretty cool if AT&T would go down in BR right about now. Assuming that's who he has.

He'll prob get better arse at LSU next year than he would in Des Moines, Iowa.
That's the only plus for him if he comes back to school.

Yea I'm sure he's sitting in a dorm room in BR right now
