Yes, I know it brings in a fair amount of money.
Yes, I know that money is needed to support the program.
However, it seems there could be another way to raise those funds without the ads. They're unsightly, especially considering the caliber of program that LSU has and the fact that other SEC schools seem to raise program funds without the unsightly outfield walls.
Oh yes...in before the "LSU fans will bitch about anything" comment. This isn't a bitch. It's an observation looking for other rational responses.
(Yeah, good luck finding that here.)

Are they really that "unsightly".
They don't bother me at all. Not even a little.
I feel like a plain green wall would be boring. Totally okay with it.

Maybe other schools can't get anyone to buy those ads on the wall? How do you know other schools are raising the funds that LSU is raising? I have no problem with it.

the only thing that bothers me is the ones behind homeplate are hung poorly. They're all wrinkled.

dude, they're already charging $9 for chicken tenders. Take away the ad revenue and you'll be paying $25.

Other SEC schools sports programs receive state funding while LSU does not.

if all of the logos were against the green padding it would look better too. instead of having white blocks with the logos inside. but that's nitpicking to me.

I agree - shite looks tacky, I'm not a fan of the ads behind the batters box either.

Here's one...
Everyone can admit that for the quality product that is on the field, tickets prices are absurdly low.
This is the one sport where LSU could easily raise ticket prices by 50 percent and it would still be cheap considering the product you are paying to watch.
I mean, is $8 to $12 and $12 to $18 that big of a deal?
