What did Merrifield do so poorly to get half a chance to start then benched quickly while the shortstop keeps making error after error.
I like Thompson and am pulling for the kid, but he’s in a bad place mentally right now. He can’t even catch popups. I’m watching 2008 Jarrett Lee all over again. Thompson needs a break. Jay isn’t doing him any favors by throwing him back out there every game.

Kinda wish we were facing a righty today to see if he wouldve considered sitting him. But regardless, i agree, he needs to sit. And merrifield in my mind has a higher potential than cranford, but i dont have a strong preference there
