To add to this, Tamarcus Cooley was ejected in the fourth quarter of their bowl against ECU

The penalty for fighting the second half of the last game of the season is that you miss the first half the the next year.
It doesn't appear that the refs listed it as unsportsmanlike/fighting though:
It looks like it could be considered "flagrant" though which would then leave it up to the conference as to whether or not they institute additional penalties such as missed games. The BIG12 didn't institute additional penalties, and he's no longer in the conference so he should be fine.
quote:
If a player or coach gets ejected for fighting twice in a single season, they will be suspended for the remainder of that season. If the second fight occurs in the final game of the season, they will be suspended for the first game of the following season in which they are eligible (and this suspension will be considered their first fight of that next season).

All flagrant fouls will be punished by an ejection or disqualification, whether they occur "before the game, during the game [or] between periods." The rulebook states: "When a player is ejected from the game due to a flagrant personal foul, that team's conference shall automatically initiate a video review for possible additional sanctions before the next scheduled game."

Play them. NCAA won’t do anything

From everything I am reading, looks like they will both be out first half.

Agree here. I would essentially go to Sankey and say, "Were playing them so you better just let who ever know that needs to".

The bizarre thing for me is that there is no official ruling from the NCAA anywhere on this and no one on the LSU staff seemed to think they were suspended. Im at a loss for words

Reading this…only seems to address suspensions for targeting in terms of carry over for next season.

0 shot that is true. No way it transfers season.

I am not seeing anything specific to Haulcy nor Cooley but from what I read this would fall under "carryover suspension" which states an unsportsmanlike conduct ejection for fighting in the 2nd half of the last game of the season results in a first half suspension of the first game of the following season assuming the player still has eligibility.
AI:

Yes, under NCAA rules, a college football player ejected for fighting in the second half of their final game of the season is suspended for the first half of the next game of the next season, if they are still eligible. This penalty carries over to the subsequent season if the ejection occurs in the team's last game.

Correct. BYU and Houston are both in the Big 12. Not good for his credibility

Just like the old days-LOL

The official box score does not list it as fighting. Only unsportsmanlike.

Why even post this? It seemed no one was even aware of this. Now someone from Clemson might see this, it work its way to Dabo, and he contact NCAA and they sit out. There is a non-zero chance that a post like this has that kind of fall out. Just keep quiet on shite like this.

I mean it was posted by one of the editors of Clemson's message board. If it was a thing the Dabo would already know about it.

If anything, at this point there is alot of confusion around it. If there is no clarification by noon tomorrow, have a judge file an injunction or a stay on the matter, and just delay it.
