Pauls system has not changed. So don't think its gonna be better. With the program he inherited from Smoke you would think the program now would be more consistent. Well it is. Negatively. Disappointing in just 2 games. I am sure he will win his share but getting past a regional or super(ha) if he sniffs it, will be tough. Just saying.

I think the point is the situation could have been avoided.

Add to it that the batting outside of a few players looks like garbage.

We lost a game in February. It's time to meltdown.

10-20 at best in the SEC. We don't even make the tournament. It's over.

You guys that are rationalizing this bullshite should be ashamed of yourself. What exactly did we learn from George pitching today that we didn’t already know in his first three years in the program? That he still can’t be counted on in these situations?

What did we learn from the hitting? That it’s the same shitty approaches we’ve seen for the majority of Manieri’s tenure here as coach, outside of the players smoke left him and the time Cannizaro was here.

You play to win ballgames. You manage to win ballgames. Paul’s stewardship of this program has been lacking. It’s a stale program and we’ve been surpassed by quite a few programs just in our division. That’s why we’re picked to finish 4th with our supposedly best pitching unit we’ve had in some time.

Sorry I’m over 60 years old but if I’m pitching in the ninth I’m not walking anybody. Let them hit it

It not fun to watch, plain and simple.

Simple fundamentals like Bunting and baserunning are terrible year to year.

And hiring your buddies as coaches seems to be a detriment to this team

I know you’re probably senile at that age but I don’t think he was trying to walk anyone

Wrong, any coach worth their weight knows who their high leverage relievers are before the season begins.

That’s just plain wrong. I’ll agree that maybe he shouldn’t have thrown Fontenot yesterday. But players develop through fought the year all the time especially freshmen pitchers.

There was literally a guy on here that just said that losing these games early in the season keeps us from hosting regionals which is just false. You and I might know but there are a lot of people who don’t.

Paul knows nothing about pitching. Nothing. He needs to let Dunn make all calls. Who to start, who to relieve, who to close, when to pull, when to keep in. Paul’s decisions over the years have infuriated me. I could do better.

Look, I said immediately that George should t have been brought in, before he even threw a pitch. But you should probably learn the roster a bit before you go talking about how long guys have been in the program.

No doubt, I’m not putting it all on that. This is a young positional team. CPM has always made questionable pitching moves and people on here will just make excuses and defend it.

Right. Which doesn’t say much for George & Floyd throwing the ball.

Completely correct. That’s all I was trying to say is the fontenot decision was a little iffy to me. shite, I mean throw the kid out there yesterday with a four run lead and let’s see. We could have used him today in a tight situation.

I’ll never act like the sky is falling, I would just like us to be positioned to win and develop at the same time.

What makes people roll their eyes is that every coach does it.

You don't remember when a coach makes the correct move, but ask any fanbase and they will say their coach is awful at pitcher management.

CPM has to deliver this year, and losing a game today doesn't just throw the season in the trash.

I guess what I was trying to say is that by now this program should at least be better than then when he took over. And didn't he inherit most of those players from Smoke?

no. Most of that 2009 team were freshman or still in high school Mainieri's first season. A few were Smoke guys
