After UGA’s 2nd drive when they ran the ball down our throats, how did Aranda adjust?

Seems he stopped blitzing, told his players to maintain leverage and keep ball carrier in front of you and make good fundamental tackles.

Whatever he did, it worked. I thought we were gonna get murdered with the way they were running on us. Kudos to Aranda.

I was whining about getting run over...

UGA proceeded to come out and go 3 and out by passing three times.

Next time they got the ball they went three and out again and threw two more times.

Yeah I was so pissed with aranda on that drive,

They started tackling better , plus we kinda got lucky with UGA abandoning the run. Stupid decision

I think we played less nickle after that. How did we think we would stop their running game using a 3-3-5 set? I would bet we also added another guy to the box, but I'm not sure.

It’s truly a million dollar question why Chaney abandoned the run when it worked for them early and went full out passing, that’s not very good coaching

Seriously. BOTH teams today ran all over each other when they spread it out.

UGA stopped then went back to it later, but it was too late.

Seems like on that second UGA drive our defenders were there to make the play but missed by over pursuing. But it did also help that UGA slightly abandoned the run on the following drives and didn’t play Holyfield more. That kid is a beast.

Not saying they didn't play somewhat better run defense after that, but UGA's offensive coordinator went full retard.

They were doing as they pleased on the ground against us and they just, stopped for some reason.

If I was calling the plays for UGA, the backs would have gotten the ball all 3 downs until I wasn't getting 6.7 YPC with Holyfield and Swift (19 attempts for 128 yards between them).

It was mind boggling why they insisted on passing when Fromm was clearly a massive liability today.

Some coaches come in with a game plan and stick to it no matter what happens on the field!

Aranda made an adjustment with White, Phillips and the NT to take away the draw play. It wasn’t luck. Fromm admitted we were giving them that early, then took it off the table.

He started throwing because we started playing the run tighter which is what smart coaches do. If they would have continued with the run it would have been stuffed anyway. They tried backing us out by passing thinking they would hit one with us playing the run tighter. We have a great DC with some good players to work with. Players gave 110% and played with all heart, and smart.

I think they abandoned the run because of the score.. the fake field goal failure really hurt them because after that we were up by two scores. Their OC felt pressure to get big plays, and that’s why they went with the pass. Still mind blowing they didn’t continue to run though

But it wasn't

They were damn near averaging 7.0 yards per carry for the ENTIRE game between their two backs. There was absolutely no reason for them to abandon that, especially considering how bad Fromm was from the get go.

He played a lot of zone. Didn't let their run scare him into bringing people up in the box. The plan was to not give up a big playaction play. Also he apparently changed some of the looks so Fromm didn't know wtf we were doing. Us getting good pressure up front was the biggest difference between Florida and today.
