It sounds like they're describing a 10 year old's first time at summer camp.
Well we were all talking about, did he learn from ole Miss? And no, he fricking didn't. So now he's learned, during his one full season at LSU is when a 56 year old finally learned something.

You make a big assumption that they would have scored a TD on that one.
A TD from that down and distance is a reasonable assumption. Whether it happens or not doesn't matter. Coaches shouldn't make decisions based on the most optimistic or pessimistic outcomes, but the most likely outcome.
If you're trying to say that not picking up 6 inches there is the most likely outcome then we have big problems.

O supporters pre season -
“just wait. Orgeron is gonna have these boys rolling. Championship in the bag”
O supporters post season-
“He couldn’t implement the system he wanted because we are young”. “That loss to (enter Sunbelt team here) wasn’t a bad loss. They went 10 and 2 this year” “The problem was with the players. They didn’t execute. That’s not on Coach O”

you can't change football staff mid-season or offensive style mid-season
LSU absolutely shite canned the best team in the SEC west that year because Hunter decided to use Rohan to Reed as a weapon. Something that Dinardo had no clue to use. Saban rode that weapon on into an SEC Title in 2001.

I’ve seen zero people post this. So your premise starts with a lie.
The only thing so called “O supporters” are saying is that the sky isn’t falling and we won’t go 6-6.
I get labeled an O supporter even though I’ve posted many times that I am skeptical that he can ever win a championship.

Could you please post any evidence at all to support this asinine statement?
LSU "fans" are some of the most ridiculous on the planet.

Not even remotely true. The championship in the bag is an exaggeration, but PLENTY of people have been saying 10-2 at the LEAST. I believe there was a 10 win guarantee just in this thread alone.

I'm not gonna dig it up, but BilJ posted a while back excerpts from O's introductory press conference to Ole Miss and it was basically word for word what he said in his presser before last year AND what was said in the article OP referenced.

Really, I'd love to see these posts. You are saying we have a lot of posters that think our baseline is 10-2 but more likely 11-1 or dare I say 12-0.
Curious.

maybe he won't. But there's nothing wrong with supporting LSU. Very predictable that a thread title like this would bring out all of the O haters.
Of course, these idiots claim hoping Miami wins 41-0 is "best for the program". Morons. Chug some Clorox.

Show me these posts that says 10-2 is the floor....

Great coaches, great support staff, filled all the holes in the roster...no reason we should be any worse than 10-2. Geaux Eaux, Geaux Tigers!!
That took a long time to find didn't it?

Coaching trees exist for a reason. It's not that those coaches are exceptional a spotting young coaching talent (although that's part of it). It's that those coaches are exceptional coaches that their assistants learn from and go on to be great coaches themselves.
Just like Coach Eaux giving Hugh Freeze and Frank Wilson their first ever college coaching jobs. Frank is the most successful coach in UTSA history and Freeze beat Bama twice in his years at Ole Miss.
Coach Eaux has a heck of a coaching tree. His tree contains guys who he gave their first start. Not some guys who just coached for him a couple years after being established coaches for years if not decades.

There are a bunch, I'm just not gonna take the time to dig them out. Just as I wouldn't expect you to dig up the 6-6 threads. I'd hope we both have better things to do.
However, I will also say that saying a 6 or 7 win season is guaranteed is dumb as well. We don't know what's gonna happen.

Why shouldn’t we expect at least 10 wins? Our new coach was hired to get us off the 9 win plateau and we’ve been told countless times how much better things are now compared to when he was hired. Are we shifting goal posts again?
Posted on 3/9/18 at 1:47 pm to MOT
O himself said he expected to compete for championships very quickly. since his first press conference we've gone from competing for championships to rebuilding.
