You make a big assumption that they would have scored a TD on that one.

No I don't. Even if they don't score, ND gets the ball with their heels on the goal line with a chance for a safety. Even if you don't score, chances are the game goes to OT.

And you’re making a huge assumption that Notre Dame would’ve driven the ball 99+ yards against our defense.

But to what degree? Does he just have to do better than Canada? Be in the top 10%? No matter how good it is, or how bad, somebody is gonna complain. Hope they all do great and all this goes away, but we will see.

I think this is exactly right. A successful 2018 season is no easy task with the schedule we play though. I think 7-5 or worse and he is done.

Well this is where he put himself in a bad position last season. The Troy loss and ND destroyed any possible capital he could have built. Reverse those and he has a 11-2 season and a less successful 2018 would be a smaller burden knowing how tough the schedule is. He's essentially backed himself into a corner now and no matter how difficult it may be, it's on him to fight his way out.

They didn't have a problem with the 75 they did have to cover. Not saying the decision was correct, but it sure is easy in retrospect for us sitting at a computer.

I think you missed what the article was explaining. The addition of the coaches to the staff, preparation of the game planning and player development. I liked what I read but I'm not predicting a 10 win season yet! You got to admit that what is being done by O far exceeds what Miles had put in place. I like the addition of the safety coach. It explains a lot but most on this site were claiming Raymond was leaving because of the addition of the safety coach. Simple not true and you got to like the idea of housing recruits parents in the operations office.

LOL Ree you being to rational for this group! Let me explain it to you like this: In my career in Law Enforcement (30 yrs) people always ask me what is the real issue in America regarding crime? Most thought it was drug abuse but it really isn't. The biggest issue is mental health and this site is full of those type of personalities. JS

At the end of the day it's still all predicated on wins and losses. Canada did not have a good red zone efficiency and the offense struggled greatly even before the now infamous O intervention. I still hoped Canada and O would end their school girl spat, but it wasn't meant to be. I think they were both at fault, but the degree of blame can be debated. Ultimately it does fall on the HC though. I want to see us utilize the middle of the field and short/intermediate routes. We were too easy to defend last season knowing our tendencies. Part of that was Etling's limitations and Canada trying to protect him.

Ensminger has to smartly manage Brennan (assuming he starts). He has to allow him to make mistakes without destroying his confidence or jeopardizing the team. It's a difficult balance that will allow him to develop. Narcisse needs to be given packages and PT to allow him to develop and keep him motivated to stay and not transfer. He has an additional year due to RS so we need to keep him. 2nd half adjustments. How is the RPO utilized? How is our deep WR talent being used? This is what I'm looking for if I'm HC.

Couldn't stop laughing after the first paragraph.

You can't? That's exactly how Ed got the job. LSU changed head coach and OC during the season.

It sounds like they're describing a 10 year old's first time at summer camp.

Miles hired the current head coach, Dc and OC.

And... There was a rule change allowing more coaches. Les couldn't add more. And... LSU is actually ponying up more for assistants than they did under Miles.

I was worried about the direction of the program until I heard we got Billy Busch. Now I KNOW we are going to be elite. Everyone in CFB has been clamoring over the Busch hire. And don't even get me started on the support staff. Playoff here we come!
