Never said it was but considering they were getting torched, it wouldn’t have hurt to try.

Barry Odom is a pretty sound DC. HOGS will be a better team this year

I totally agree. We had all off season to prepare and all these analysts on staff. We should have started with a zone. This loss is on the coaches.

Our corners couldn’t handle man assignments. You think they would have been more successful not fricking up a zone?

I get this. And agree. However we gave up 623 yards in the air. COuld it have gotten worse?

I'm surprised Pelini got away unscathed from that game. Brennan got the blame for the loss by many fans yet Pelini gave up the most passing yards ever in SEC history.

Aranda has several game plans available and often adjusted on the fly. Seems like Pelini puts half a gameplan together and hope it works.

He didn’t miss a single tackle, not a one

They watched the PAC 12 games including Washington against Leach
I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that they knew how they wanted to attack them defensively.
It was more missed assignments than the scheme itself.
Hill got hurt in Ark game, if LSU drops 8 they would have dinked and dunked LSU all game and Hill would have rushed a lot more than he did.

I would have liked to see Pelini try zone. He replied he didn’t think the DB’s were ready to play zone and communicating trade offs but they gave up TD’s in man anyway, what would it had hurt to try it. Exhaust all your options.

How does Pelini not install zone schemes with 6 weeks to prepare?

Because he has 2 lock down corners that can handle man far more effectively than zone? He's going to install his own schemes, so he's not going to waste 6 weeks for a single opponent scheme with already shortened training camps
