Would be nice to let fans put flowers and well wishes on the cage

Well wishes towards whom?

Sing the alma mater together with the cage out there would be awesome

They'll probably pipe in "I'll be missing you" by Puff Daddy

I could enjoy Elton John's "Goodbye England's Rose" but have "England" replaced with something appropriate to Mike.

(Someone with a better sense than I of musical alliteration/rhyme would have to decide what to replace it with.)

I know some, if not all, of the previous Mikes have been preserved by a taxidermist.

What if they preserved Mike VII once he passes, and displayed him in his mobile cage for the remainder of the football games?

Oh man, the thought of the empty cage in the eye of the tiger with the crowd singing alma mater just hit my feels big time.

A bit sensitive, huh?

Mike I has his pelt and skull on display at the LSU Museum of Natural History.

may be my best idea ever

I sent an email to Joe. i'll see if he responds. Mike VI has definitely earned a celebration of life and I can't think of anything better to celebrate his.

I have a visualization of his cage being hooked to a sort of caisson (like a two tired dolly with a T-bar on front) and being pulled by hand onto the center of the field...

Are we sure there will be a MIke VII? LSU, among many teams called tigers, have the only remaining live tiger as a mascot. Peta might object to a Mike VII. I personally hope there is a Mike VII.

Perhaps once he passes, he could lie in state for a few days in the PMAC.

I was just bitching about piped in music, but we could do a "casey's long distance dedication"
