There was one game where we needed something like 9 blocks. We had 7 with only a couple minutes to go and then Tyrus swatted 3 away in one possession. The place exploded. Fun times.

Every time they had 5 blocks as the challenge, I knew I was goin to Cane’s after the game. Tyrus had that by himself most nights.

The team we had in 2000 with Bright, Beshara, Stro, and Jabari was probably my favorite season of basketball all time. We played #1 Arizona at home and beat them pretty good along with Kentucky at home.

It was deafening in that arena. I remember leaving games and ears ringing for hours afterwards.

Perhaps we should try to find old YouTube clips and photos to show what it was like back then?

Have you not been to like any games? They've been doing that.

Maravich Maniacs actually did this--with free rotolos--once or twice a year until Johnny came in. Also had some watch parties, I remember watching the 2012 NIT game at rotolos as part of the Maravich Maniacs

We literally (and when I say ‘we’ I mean the ‘freaks’ in the front row) did that a couple of years ago. We were made fun of constantly.

I’ve been to every game. I know they’ve started doing it. I’m saying they aren’t doing it correctly.

Do they still do the “You you you you you. What are YOU doing?” chant at player after they commit a foul?

Haven't heard that one the past couple of years. Its been "You can't do that" after a foul.

I am a former season ticket holder and I approve of this message. It wasn’t even that long ago that fans used to do that. It’s surpisingly how quickly “traditions” can come and go.

Live in Dallas now.

As far as students go at MBB games, just come and yell loudly. That's all that is needed/wanted.

I hate the “sucks” during the introductions. I much prefer the actual tradition of chanting “boring, boring” while holding up the newspaper during the opposing team introductions. That’s the way we used to do it. Now get off of my lawn!

Absolutely. Bring back Mike Toole and others. Do this right!!

Mid 90's we yelled "SUCKS!!!" "EATS QUICHE" and some others that I cannot recall. That was many, many beers ago.

If you compare a primetime basketball game against a ranked opponent to LSU football vs. Georgia Southern, sure.

You must be 25 or younger. I promise you when LSU basketball was good, it was best sporting event to go to on campus, and IMO it wasn't even close.

As a MBB season ticket holder since 1976, I can guarantee you that great LSU MBB atmospheres in the PMAC were greater than the best games in other arenas/stadia on our campus. And, yes, I am also a football (1982) and baseball (1986) season ticket holder.

I still maintain that that Thursday night MBB game in 1979 when we beat alabama to win the SEC title (first one in 25 years) had the loudest and most raucous crowd of any event on our campus during my lifetime.

I grew up in middle section across from students. My parents first got season tickets in the mid 80s, as well as having them for Football and Baseball.

It's laughable to me to think that anyone can even truly believe the other environments can rival basketball when basketball is right. When they were good, it was the by far the best atmosphere on campus and hope these students can get it back there.

Close. I'm a few years older than that.

That may be true because when LSU basketball was good, LSU football wasn't that great. We're not really comparing apples to apples. My point was just that a big, high profile LSU football game will always be more fun (to me at least) than a similar basketball game. Of course, that's as long as we're putting out a good product on the field/court

Different strokes for different folks, I guess.
