Add $1 to every LSU and Southern football game ticket to pay for BR to NOLA rail?

Well House Bill 621 by Belle Chasse Democrat Rep. Mack Cormier does exactly that through the 2027 season. How funny that no New Orleans based teams would have to pay for the rail services construction.
HB 621 by Rep Cormier
ETA: I don't support this and think its ridiculous to suggest that sports tickets fund the rail in the first place but also that LSU and Southern shoulder 100% of the cost.

Thank you, but no.

You actually still believe these things? Our government cannot spend money in any whatsoever way responsibly. Get your head out of the sand and fight against any and all such proposals.

I can think of 1,000 things this state needs more than a BR to NOLA rail.

Only for it to require more LE to man the terminals and we can’t even man a fully functioning LE service… no thanks.

Should make the saints do this. Taxpayers have been paying to keep them here for years anyway

LOL
That passenger rail line will never happen and these politicians need to shut up about it

If Louisiana legislature ran the Gulf of Mexico they would run it out of water.

The bill is laughable no matter what...but if you are going to be real about it at least strap a buck onto Saints tickets as well. I mean come on.

We don't.

So if I use this I can expect my car to be broken into at the parking lot for the train? Instead of at the stadium or anywhere in NOLA. NOTE: They will ask for more money after cars get vandalized.

Collecting $1 per ticket through 2037 wouldn't even entirely fund a rail line between Tiger Stadium and Mumford.

But it would never be ready in time

So people can commute back and forth from New Orleans to BR for the convenience man!!
..by driving 30 min to a train station, waiting on a late train, dealing with the eventual rif raff on said train, then catching a uber another 30min to said office. Then repeating the steps at the end of the day. Sounds lovely

It would be incredible because that way we can finally get people to commute and not have to use I-10 all the damn time.
I don't even want to know how much it would cost to build a rail system over that much swampland.

Think of the fights and shootings trying to get on and off the train in NOLA and BR!Oh wait Destroya and Broome say: Crime is down and there is nothing to see here!
