Wait. I thought Kirby was a genuius. O an idiot. This board and fan base like Baton Rouge are laughable.

Kirby Smart is nothing more than an ace recruiter, at this point. His roster management and overall program management both appear to be very good as well.

His game day prep and situational coaching leave a lot to be desired.

because I said one season doesn't determine whether or not a team can be a dynasty?
I don't really think that was OP's point, but if they end up being one, this season won't be part of it. Do you not agree that O could end up finishing higher ranked than Smart? Do you not agree that LSU beat Georgia this season?

This underperformance against Texas could sway some recruits. Are we competing for any recruits against Georgia?

The OP is talking about the media Narrative that UGA is some kind of budding dynasty. We heard this today on ESPN where they were throwing around the idea that UGA had somehow left everybody else besides Bama in the dust. That is what I reacted to- this assumption that they are already there and we are on perpetual decline.

My comment was about saying one season can predict whether or not a team will eventually be considered a dynasty. I don't understand how people don't get this
No one thinks otherwise. I think you are very confused.

UGA's last 3 recruiting classes put them right with Alabama, in terms of raw talent. They've signed fifteen 5* players in those cycles. That's just insane amounts of talent.

Pretty sure it was. Why else would he say it? He is essentially saying it's laughable to think UGA could be a dynasty because LSU will likely finish better than them in 2018.

No I disagree. I don't think we beat UGA this year. I think we stomped their arse. It was awesome. Still doesn't determine who is a better coach or program for the long term.

ETA - you said yourself you read like 60/85 scholarships are freshmen/sophomores.

There's just not a lot of effort on the field tonight.

Hes stocking talent though, no doubt.

I don’t see how last year is relevant as far as their season.

I’m not hating on them. But Smart has shown warts. LSU has young talent too

The OP is clowning the idea that UGA is an upcoming dynasty under Smart. I think looking at his time there and their future is important.

If you want to say they trended down in 2018, that's fine, but shortsighted.

Perhaps we're talking about different things. The OP is about UGA since his arrival and into the future.

Then can you explain what part I am confused about because the way the OP reads he is saying that because O could finish above Smart it's laughable that UGA could be an up and coming dynasty.

Herman is smiling and blowing bubbles after a late hit in QB. Br would love this conduct. But we chastise the shrimp boat captain. Only here.

We've caught up some ground, but they had a pretty clear head start after last year.
