It's crazy how people would love to have O back at LSU with no understanding of how he left it.

So 15-0 while beating the crap out of every opponent wasn't elite

Nobody thinks O was the brainstorm behind 15-0, and one Aranda and Brady left it was proven.

Yall gotta stop the coach O stuff, we are trying to be elite sorry if that hurts the casual fans feelings.

So 2019 wasn't elite?

Just imagine if Edwards, Carville, Woody, and Pellini had never happened.

2019 may have been a trend and not just a Blip.

It seems that while Kiffin and O do have history. Since Kiffin has engaged in sobriety, that has included cutting out old flames like O. Which frankly, makes a lot of sense.

I judge him strictly on the way he left LSU

He should never be a coach here again, regardless of how good he can coach DL

You are refusing to consider all the variables. You are viewing that situation through a pinhole and are refusing to consider how all that could go wrong and how spectacularly that could sabotage this new staff IF it goes wrong. I’m not saying for sure that it would but all the ingredients for a messy situation reside within rehiring him. I respect what he’s done and I respect his authenticity but try to think about how that could go wrong and try to imagine a point in a season where CLK has to chew his arse. Possibly in front of player. How does he take that.

Oh by the way, he was the HC on the greatest team in CFB history and brought Joe B to LSU. No O, no glorious 2019 nd no Burrow.

How can so many retards disagree with this? Whether you like him or not, he pulled that team together and kept them focused to win.

His problem is consistency, but to ignore his significant and fundamental contribution to that team shows you guys dont know football, or team building.

Coach O can definitely be a shite show of a person but he's also been a part of 5 national championship staffs. I'm not beating the door down to get him back but I wouldn't be mad either.

He's a culture problem. He's a shite human being. He pissed off a lot of the big whigs. He set a horrible example to the team of how to respond to success. And he literally attempted to stage a coup to take over Miles. He's lazy and left the program in shambles and refused to go back to work until the LSU checks quit coming in. Sure hes a good d-line coach and recruiter but he can't be trusted. You don't want that type of guy around your program. Besides he's been out of practice for a while now. Make him the mascot if you must

Just watch the interview with O on Bussin with the Boys. He had those guys in the palm of his hand telling stories. He's great talking ball and he'd be great at it again wherever he ends up. It would be great to have him on staff.

You have to be careful having too many alphas on the staff.

They tend to start challenging each other.

This is a shite take. Like the next poster said, dude has 5 rings. He knows ball. He’s a loose cannon, but to pretend he’s not an elite DL Coach and recruiter is being disingenuous.

This is a shite take. Every fricking team in the NCAA has decided not to hire him for 6 straight years. How many elite DL coaches and recruiters can there be where you won’t even take a chance on the guy.

He may have been good at one time, but dude showed everyone what it takes for him to not care about football and right now that dude cares more about himself than anything else.

Upvote for listing out the line.

Downvote for wanting to bring back O. You guys really need to give this shite a rest. Move on.

Those who do not learn from the past are doomed to repeat it.

If Coach O was coming back it would be a done deal. LSU administration does not want him back here. That isn’t Lane’s decision.

You lost me with the coach O statement. He should never be allowed at the lsu facility again.

Because this thread is about the defensive line coach opening and not what he did 7 years ago as HC, when he then clearly stopped caring after, left LSU in horrible shape, and is now going to be 65 in summer.
