Heard a Skip story Today during 104.5 Sports today:
It was one of his 'down years' and they were playing someone way better like cal state Fullerton and We went up by 2 runs on some crazy plays in the second inning. Our guys were all fired up talkin trash across the diamond and getting real loud and excited. Next inning Fullerton rips their tits off and go up by 8. The dugout gets real quiet and skip turns to all the guys and says "Y'all didn't think y'all were gonna win today did ya?"

Sure is a lot of Skip Bertman getting ejected stories for a guy that only got ejected from 2 games in his LSU career.

In one of his last seasons as head baseball coach near the end of his career, LSU was playing one of its mid-week night games.
The first base umpire had made two or three questionable calls, all of which went against the Tigers. After the last one, the Skipper went hobbling/trotting out to the umpire. After a few minutes, the discussion got very animated.
At one point Skip turned his cap around backwards and was really getting in the umpire's face all the while pointing his finger at the umpire. The crowd was loving it.
That was the Friday night Vandy game in 01 and Skip was mad about balls and strikes all game.

Steve Spurrier said the same thing to me while running balls on their sideline back in '96 on their way to a 56-13 drumming of us.

Seriously only two? I'm not saying you're wrong, just doesn't seem like it.

I've heard him several times, but the first was the best.
He started out with a Starkville zinger. He said the Census Bureau did a 20 year study on why the population of Starkville never changes, and finally got to the bottom of it.
Girl gets pregnant, guy leaves town!

The most recent address he did that I attended had Warren Morris and Russ Springer present to dedicate a new ballpark. Probably the best address I've ever witnessed. Talked about the rope, etc.

This is an incorrect statement.

My memory is fuzzy, as I was younger in Skip's day, but I was still substantially old enough to remember more than 2 firings.

Can we name them. I'm pretty certain that the 1997 Long Beach St regional game was the second time in his LSU career. Was he ejected after that?

Yep the 2001 Vandy one.
1992 vs South Carlina in the SEC tourney
1997 vs Long Beach State
2001 vs Vandy

It has to be more than 2 huh?

The ejection was the third of Bertman's 1,178-game career at LSU, and the first in a regular season contest. Bertman was tossed on May 17, 1992 against South Carolina in the SEC Tournament at the Superdome in New Orleans, and again on May 25, 1997 at the NCAA South I Regional at Alex Box Stadium against Long Beach State.

Ok, 3.
I'm pretty good with my LSU baseball history. Missed that one.

Best Skip story I ever heard, unfortunately I don't remember who was pitching and catching, Skip goes to the mound and says "You two are ruining the game of baseball" then goes back to dugout.
