When Saban leaves Bama, there will be Nega-Tiders....folk who simply will not be happy with his successor and the results don't really have anything to do with it.

I've always appreciated Miles' even keel personality as opposed to the crazy phscho venting of a Saban, Gruden, Muschamp, Pelini, etc. Losing your cool, even when defending your players, makes you look unprofessional.

Agreed, except that the occasional loss of cool illustrates that you do hav ethat fire and are willing to "go to bat" for your players. I think this press conference helps Miles in the long run.

Chavis D would allow Alabama to go 75 yards in 50 seconds

they had gained only 50 yards in the whole second half

so, are you blaming Chavis, or giving him credit for dominating Bama in the 2nd half?

Covered #4? That would have been TM7's man.

I agree that TM7 wouldn't have kept our LBs from getting hurt against Florida. But, I think he makes a big difference in our pass defense in us not having to start a freshman. The Jalens would be getting playing time, but not forced to play so early.

it was totally professional for a "paid reporter" to ask a question about his "non paid" college players being a flop.

I didn't see the whole press conference, but I heard that there was no such question.

It wasn't a question. I think he was responding to a newspaper article.

from the clip, it appeared to be part of his opening statements, as he said, "now for questions" afterwards. but, that doesn't mean that the question wasn't asked prior to Miles going up to the podium, or asked out of turn prior to him giving his statement. someone in the media who was there would have to clarify.

I see nothing wrong with asking a coach if he feels a player didn't live up to his potential.

this isn't what was asked. It was players being a "flop". not live up to their potential or expectations. when you use the word "flop" you are personally attacking.

meh, just a difference of opinion. I think that any time a coach loses their cool, it is potentially embarrassing for their team.

slack, do you call when saban melts down on his players the same thing? just curious, not trolling.

i had no problem with his speech. he was passionately defending his players. which i prefer over throwing his players under the bus to make himself look infalliable.

(5) and maybe the most impressive...you win a game against Ole Miss that most coaches, including Saban, would have lost...for whatever reason, the team didn't bring their A game...yet they found a way to win.

I don't know about this. Saban has done a remarkable job of not losing while at Bama. When he does lose its been to pretty good teams.

correct. Saban, Pelini, and Muschamp look retarded a lot. I prefer the way that Miles handles himself 99.9% of the time. He is a professional who is evenly keeled. I think this is extremely beneficial to players to not see him freakin' out over every little thing. And, I would not want a coach like Pelini, Saban, or Muschamp on our sideline; as long as we can have someone who can win that can act like a normal adult.

A Realistic Look from a Nega-Tiger

I chalk the Ole Miss game up to a week late letdown after Bama, especially after watching Bama lose to Texas A&M and knowing how disheartening it was for the team to know they were so close to the SECCG and maybe even BCSCG.

There may be a little validity in this....I hope it doesn't hurt us next Friday; seeing as how we could be #2 in the country RIGHT NOW if we get one more (&(%&$%^#^##@@~@$%&**)(&%^&#^#@@%!$%^&(^^&$%$%@%#@!#$%^&*^&*^* first down against the Alashama Mulligumpneckteabagtards .....

k. at least that's consistent. i know there are some that just don't like the way miles carries himself but at least you see things from both sides when it comes to other coaches.

the reason I don't like what Miles did is because it isn't in his character. He's a better man than what he displayed in his press conference. I'd bet he's probably disappointed that he let it get to him.
