"But if I were the Commanders, I would not let Jayden Daniels see the field again this preseason. He just looks smaller than what he weighed in at the combine. If there was one knock against him, he does not know how to slide, he does not know how to protect himself."

Old rules for QBs(80’s-90’s) Yes

Is he still around 210? I mean, Kyler Murray is listed at 207 and several experts said that he needed to gain some weight to avoid getting injured.

Daniels ideally needs to be around 225 at 6’4” for long lasting NFL career.

People don't want to hear that on here....but this will make it hard to stay in the league long-term.

Remember when everyone said he was too tentative in the passing game?

He shut down that narrative and absolutely can learn to protect himself in the pocket or running the ball.

The league is not the same. QBs are more protected now

KM is also listed at 5'10". Also, hopefully JD has a better career than KM.

Not saying I disagree but Richardson from Florida is about 250 and even he didn't make it a full season. So my question is how much does the weight really matter?

He’s still going to get hit hard and often

Hes a small QB, i have been saying this. Hes not a Lamar Jackson or even a RG3 build.

I hope im wrong but i dont see him having a stellar NFL career but i hope he does!

This is a fair criticism. He definitely needs to slide more.

I think part of the issue is that he can legitimately make people miss so he tries to make everyone miss instead of just sliding.

do we say that about 6’5 207 lb wrs?

not really.

Are their any QBs who get beat the frick yo all game every game that last and end up injury free?

Andrew Luck?
Cam Newton?

Fran Tarkenton 6’ 190
Drew Brees 6’ 190

JD is lanky but 205 ain’t bad.

I hate when people say this. He knows how to slide he just doesn’t like to do it when anyone looks at him.

I think JD legitimately plays at around 195 or so. It's doable if you don't take big hits but I think he could certainly benefit from an extra 15-20 pounds of muscle so long as it does not hinder his movement

Yeah, I was critical of all the running and just scared of him getting hurt, but he would laugh every hit off and get ready for the next play…dude was tough for his size, and I know this league is brutal, and he has to be smart, but if he’s the best option, just play him and let him learn…
