Between the loud rap music and unnecessary commercials every five minutes, it’s making long time ticket holders say screw it and stay home.

Here's the problem with that argument. I'm sure the players like that music; it's probably what most college students hear at parties, etc. And maybe that hypes them up a bit. But.....that applies to players on BOTH teams!

Maybe players shouldn’t worry about the DJ playing music and worry about the game. The DJ is there for “fan experience” not to hype the players up.

Yeah, I was going to add something like that to my post, but it was already getting pretty long. You're right...players should be listening to their coaches and each other during a TO and shouldn't even notice the music. As for "fan experience," I don't mind an occasional piped-in tune, but every TO shouldn't be taken up with advertisements and generic party music. In my opinion, that actually ruins the fan experience, making a game in Tiger Stadium seem like just another frat party, an entertainment venue where a football game just happens to be going on between party tunes, not "the cathedral of college football" where "worship happens."

Snowflake, your entire reply is from a weak, and snowflake mindset. You haven't built shite, never played a sport in your life, maybe frisbee. The athlete's blood, sweat and tears something you nothing about built that reputation. A bunch drunks and bigots thinking they built something, you have been handed shite your entire sorry existence.

This is an incredibly immature and ignorant post if Ive ever seen one, on multiple levels. Every college football programs athletes have given “blood sweat and tears”. Why don’t they all have the reputation of Tiger Stadium? The answer is the passion of the fan base. Everyone recognizes and acknowledges this except for you apparently. Thats a “you” problem. Also, grow up.

Agree regarding there being too much piped in music played at too high a decibel level. I'm reply to add that it's almost impossible to hear what the miced refs are saying too. It used to be clear when they cut to their feed after a call, but it and the announcer all sound distorted now.

This was my first home game this season, so I'm not sure if this abortion is what they've been rolling out for every home game.

The light show for the Ole Miss game last year was incredible. It restored my faith that LSU can actually get something right. It's been a disappointment since then. USCe actually has a top notch light show in their stadium. I can only imagine what their fans must've been thinking while watching this shite show. I'm sorry, but if you can't do it right, then don't do it at all.

Just a guess, but they probably hired a professional firm to do the lightshow last year, then decided to save money and put on their own slapdick show.

What part of the piped in music is what the players want don’t you people understand?

Probably the part where we’re supposed to believe these paid professional players are dictating the music selection rather than the paying audience.

In the century of LSU football in which the band played, how in heavens did we ever get players to come ?

I get why they have the loud music but agree it should be eased up. The Tiger Band needs more air time.

If the elites had to sit in the stadium proper instead of insulated from the noise in their suites, something would have already been done about it.

It just doesn't make sense.

Turn Down for What - 2013

All I do is Win - 2010

At least play something new. I mean, don't. Let the band play. But if you're going to force piped in music, for the love of god play something else.

I would say times are changing and whether you like it or not it’s just different. But the younger folks are right, that if we don’t like it then just don’t go to the games It really is their game now. I recall going to the game as a child and wondering how all of the old folks could drink whiskey and smoke cigars as the smell of it was what I associated with an LSU game. Plenty of cursing, usually at Charlie Mac. But the people at the games were always nice to young Tiger fans. It was in this excitement that many of us learned to love LSU football. There were hazards of leaving the stadium as other intoxicated fans might bump your vehicle from behind on the way out. Any fighting was usually reserved to college kids and Tulane fans. That to was in a way exciting and disgusting and sad to see but it was a part of the LSU experience.. But society has changed and not for the better. Those before my time, probably didn’t like the smell of whiskey or of cigars or cussing and thought the proper attire for the game was in slacks tie and a coat. For myself, I realize now that marijuana is now acceptable in our society and is becoming mainstream and that the gun violence at these events is becoming less than shocking. By the way, I love hunting and will do it Saturday before the game. I’m not against guns but don’t believe many of the young folks have a proper respect for them. The real problem is that many of these young folks have not been taught respect and have no respect for others, And worse, no respect for themselves. If we were being honest it’s not just about an LSU football game anymore, someone left home to go to a crowded public place knowing they might use a weapon. Our choice is to understand this threat to us and our loved ones. I do not blame this incident on police as they can’t watch over a quarter of a million people. I hope the Governor with a concerted effort by LSU can resolve this for the fans but they can’t change the disrespect, only their mommas and daddy’s could have done this.

If they gave me one week up there to learn and put together some tunes I would have that game choreographed- people dancing- people singing- appropriate quiet- themed for situations- funny- adrenalized music-and I’d do it with so many genres your head would spin. Me and Pimp Jr are ready for this gig.

I know him. Terrance is prob one of the best sound engineers around. He takes his job seriously. Terrance is not involved with the sound system performance in football. There are other people who control that. He handles many (pretty much all) of the other sporting events though but not football.
