An agent got to him and gave him money. He can’t play for LSU this year

Honestly will not daily hom for leaving, he has a lot of risk to injury and the QB/OL situation. I think COVID is less about getting sick at this point as much as it is the unknown of will the games actually be played, start and stop to the season etc. if he skills he can be singularly focused. He is an amazing talent and I would love him back on the team if for nothing else than to continue to cement the culture of the WR room that jetts started and the three of those guys continued to cultivate last year. I want him on this team but will be a fan of his for a long time regardless.

All true. His timing and lack of keeping his word are my problem with his decison. But in the end my problems and thoughts have no bearing on a kid who is being led by others to quit on his teammates very late in the process.

Marcus Lattimore begs to differ.

This is a different situation, but to say the money definitely isn’t going anywhere is not true.

Still sucks and I’m upset about it. But he is a kid, the season will have an asterisk next to it, I understand why he did it. I don’t like it, but he doesn’t owe me anything.

At the end of the day, it’s HIS decision and he has to live/die by what he chooses. If he feels opting out is his best choice then so be it

Just sucks that the idea of football being a ‘team’ game, and putting a collective group ahead of your own individual goals is slowly dying out. EVERYONE (not just chase, not just college athletes, and not just ONLY sports) are completely ‘selling their souls’ for profit..

We live in a completely new era, and as far as I can see, it’s not better than the previous one. Everything revolves around the almighty dollar

I would much rather him go ahead and go, then to play half heartedly because he is trying to avoid injury. Those players, from various teams throughout the country seem to lose something when they go out and play at less than full effort. Many of those guys seem to never get it back and have a far less successful NFL career because of it.

When people say one thing and then do the exact opposite, well they usually get shite for it. Only a moron doesn't understand that.

I agree with you, but we don't know all potential factors. What if he had a minor, undisclosed injury in practice that freaked him out and changed his heart.

I know, if my grandma had wheels and a handlebar she'd be a bicycle.

He's a big boy and I'm sure has dealt with critique and heckling as a highly visible, successful athlete for a major college that just blew the doors off of everyone on and off the field. So he can deal with the criticism from fans who see this late 180 degree shift from his previous statements as unnecessarily detrimental to the team.

It may be the right decision for him and he owes LSU nothing more, but it would've been nice to have the info earlier if he was taking reps from WRs who will need them.

Good luck Chase and

I have no issue with fans doing things like this but let's be real about it, 99% of us, given the same opportunity, would do the exact same thing, particularly with the circumstances of this season. It's not an ordinary situation by any means at all. Also who's really being selfish in this situation, the kid choosing to prepare for his future which includes millions of dollars or the fans knocking him for doing so who have absolutely no stake in the decision other than the emotional ramblings of a fan? We say we don't want our athletes using their stance to make their political views known yet we expect them to consider our feelings in their life decisions. It's ridiculous.

Guarantee you if a corporation was going to give me $20million to leave college early, there’s no way in hell I’d pass on that just to play football at LSU one more year. And if that $20m was potentially at risk by playing a partial-season where a ton of other guys were sitting out, it wouldn’t take many close family members to give me a wake up call about protecting that $20m.

It’s like you people posting this shite have no concept of how to make good decisions when it comes to your career and financial stability.

It’s no wonder so many people have financial problems when so many of you people make decisions based on feelings and not with your brain.

I think the only problem most have is that this late, changed decision likely took reps from another teammate. The reps may have improved their future and/or the team's future. No one can blame him for this, but to wait until less than a month before the season starts is selfish if he was considering it.

-What if- the lost reps of another player would've ironed out weaknesses or mistiming with MB that would've resulted in a win vs a loss early in the season, and -what if- the reps and improved game play potentially revealed a young athlete to NFL scouts who otherwise would've been overlooked this year?

I know the talent will eventually show, but some guys need extra work and are late developers.

I hate what ifs, but just trying to have perspective on fans feelings who are critical.

This is a message board for Louisiana state university... our state is ranked 47th in household income with a 20% poverty rate pre-covid.

Don’t expect too much.

Kind of proving his point, there won’t be 100,000 fans in the stadium at all this year.

Look it up yourself, it's readily available.

Nah, he didn't hurt my feelings, but I guarantee thats why most people are pissed. I would've thought he'd opt out months ago, and understood it.

But, he played his hand like a retard and people recognize that.

Covid numbers have been all over the place, since Chase went from wanting to play to now possibly sitting out, our entire OL was infected and quarantined. Just saying, a lot changes with this thing as students come back to campus and infections start spiking and some colleges have moved back to virtual again.

Also, you could also say Chase practicing with the team and showing the younger guys how to practice and work has benefited them. The young CBs on our team getting to work against him in practice and the young WRs learning and watching how he works could benefit them. You can spin it positively too if you want.

TigerBert,

What a letter.

I'm sure

Ja'Marr will read

it.

The thing I

Liked most

Was how you spaced out

Every

Line.

Very dramatic.

Chilling, really.

Oh, and Bert,

How's Ernie?

Good job, friend.

Really, really

good stuff.

Your statement. Your burden. Sounds like it should be a piece of cake to find the multiple interviews saying he was staying. I've heard it's readily available.

Nah, I think he did. Your posts are generally pretty emotional. I guess it's therapy for you.

Retard?!?! Really?!?!

Hyperbole much? Just don't tell us you're not emotional.
