This may, MAY be true under normal circumstances but when you add all the other crap to the poor on field showing, the 3 year theory goes away.

Other crap = pics in bed with his new piece, fishing camp altercation, sissy blue shirt, etc.

What is it with you defending sup-par coaches?

And what is:

Absent a complete team meltdown,
?

Would say a 7 win season qualify? What about 6 wins? 5?

O squandered all the coaching capital he accrued from '19 in less than 12 mos. It's gone.

so if a coach wins the National Championship, and then proceeds to go 0-12 and 0-12, you seriously think he should be retained for a third year or more?

Come on, Chin.

If you give him full blame for this year (which is ridiculous),

Who else would we blame he's done NOTHING right

(And I totally give him credit for 2019)

If so, he has at least three years go get the team back in play for an NC.

So we should just accept only competing for championships every four years? Is wanting to compete at least every other year too much to ask for?

His personal issues may ultimately get him, but he should not be fired this year based on coaching performance unless he does only win a couple of games.

If last year had not been a COVID year which all sorts of extraordinary and unprecedented issues, I might agree. LSU should compete for championships every other year. But, last year really should not count. And, win the team wins an NC, the coach should have a pass for a couple of years.

From some talking head 30 years ago.

This was immediately preceded by something about having to give an incoming coach at least 5 years before you can fire him.

Any losses to teams not named Alabama, Texas A&M or UF might get Ed fired this year.
