These dudes come to LSU because they want to play for LSU.
The problem is they get to LSU and realize what a loser McMahon is and leave.

There actually is. We clearly play in the best league, and I think it’s been that way for longer than ESPN would like to admit.

It’s a not just about players, a program and culture needs to be established. Unfortunately we have regressed in that department. Firing Wade backfired in this regard. It was done for cultural reasons, which I completely understand, but we are playing like a program that received the death penalty.

It will take more than a few good players out of the portal. I’m not a hater of McMahon and think Wade put the admin in a really shitty position and forces their hand, but we will need a fresh start to start competing in the SEC.

I guess you just don’t understand how bad the program was when he took over. Give CMM some time. Two more years and this guy be packing the PMAC! He just needs a good portal class and a year for that team to gel.

More excuses. Until LSU is serious about men's basketball, a yearly tournament team will not happen.

That means money for a top coach, money for NIL, and money for facilities. This likely won't happen in my lifetime. It is too low on the totem pole.

You talking about football or basketball.

Woody Toadies uses the same excuse for both sports.

I have not seen one single person making excuses for MM....not one single person. In fact, I do not think he is the answer. I would guess most actual adults, with common sense, agree with me. However, those same adults, using logic and common sense, realize that LSU was FAR lacking in talent this year to the majority of SEC teams. Exactly how were they supposed to beat them, no matter how well they were coached, when the talent was far below others? LSU has publicly stated that this coming year, they are going to pump in the needed money to compete. That, in itself, is confirmation that they realize they lacked the talent. That is the only reason I give MM a pass. This isn't 4 years ago in college basketball. It is now all about how much you are willing to spend to get game changing talent. I have no care about MM. But, I see that it isn't all his fault if LSU was not willing to pony up NIL....and logically I refuse to put all the blame on him. If he fails this year, send him packing, and I'm sure that is what will happen if he does. I get it, you and your ilk have the pitchforks out, and no amount of logic works with you. I realize there is a certain portion of our fanbase that in fact, refuses any and all objectivity, logic, and common sense. It will be interesting to see how y'all react if he does bring in some talent and wins next year, because I'm 100% sure that you and your type will be pulling for him to lose so that you will be right. Just for the record, most of the people that think he deserves a fair shake with NIL and talent, are not MM supporters, but rather see what is going on, and feel sorry for him somewhat given his hands were basically tied behind his back in regards to NIL. Now come back with your juvenile response, as usual. Remember, you were on record calling Clyde a murderer.

Jesus Christ dude, if you really believe that....oh nevermind, over your head.

Players are leaving ALL schools in record numbers now due to NIL. But, keep on singling out LSU.

Excuses that dumb McMahon and dumb LSU administration didn't kniw the value of transfer portal, the changes from transfer portal rules, the importance if NIL, rtc.

More excuses. They just change to meet the circumstances. Proactive and successful programs saw this 3 years ago. Passive McMahon doesn't inspire or demand greatness.

LSU doesn't expect and demand greatness in mbb. If they did, McMahon would be replaced by a priven winner, a large NIL budget would be ready, and facilities upgrades would be happening.

They've announced increased NIL funding and an entire new arena is in the works.

not really. There is an entire faction of fans who know that Wade screwed up here and that we were never bringing him back. 99.9% of those fans also think McMahon needs to be fired.

We struggled in the out of conference games against shitty teams…..I hope we have more talent than Alabama St from SWAC who we beat by 2.

If Kelly doesn’t make a serious run at a playoff, the losing McMahon does may be inconsequential and all three find their asses being run out of town on a rail.

LSU is married to Kelly for at least a few more years (unless he retires). That buyout is way too big to cut bait after 4 years.

Woodward, on the other hand, will catch heat from the fanbase because he will be responsible for saddling LSU with two onerous long term contracts, in the two biggest sports (from a business perspective) the school hasn't been able to get out from under despite the coaches underperforming. One (McMahon) grossly under performing.

The AD has gone "all in" on football this year...which is understandable. That's why they haven't fired McMahon despite him being the worst coach in the SEC and LSU being the worst program in the conference which had an otherwise historically great year. The hope is that football lives up to expectations (and exceeds them), which will create more revenue and make most people ignore the bad basketball program for one more season. At that point they will get to work on changing the basketball program feeling confident football is "secure".

If it works out that way the euphoria of a great football season will placate an awful basketball season. But if it doesn't......

I guess you'll believe it in about 4 years then. You don't go through the hoops they've gone through without the funding to build already secured.
