Elite-level competitors do.... Elite-level competitors have a get-back, prove-you-wrong pettiness to them.

Whatever they can grab ahold of for any little piece of extra motivaton. They do it.

She grew up in the Baltimore inner city. That's a whole different environment, especially for playing basketball, than most posters here have any clue is about. Trash talking on those courts is second nature. So that was her background, her DNA. Clark s back ground was nothing similar, but she learned to trash talk, guessing it's a part of her super competitiveness. The 2 interviewers were both black, a former pro football player & an apparent fashion model. So natural that some aspects of race came out during the interview. The biggest take away I got was for a 20 year old college student to come across that well, no stuttering stumbling, just well erudite.

We all know what you mean when you say “ 20 year old college student”.

As in how many 20 year college students can sit for an hour's+ interview & not once say " you know", "uhhhh" ? etc etc etc She is a very well spoken young lady is what I meant. What are you insinuating?

Not that there’s anything wrong with being immature at 20.

I’m sure you say the same about baseball players or gymnasts who give long interviews.

This is where the issue has worn thin with me. I was/am ok with the in game taunts and whatever between the players. But the OP confirmed that this was a political setup from before the game even happened. After I thought about the taunting and the explanation it dawned on me that AR was never the aggrieved or targeted person. When she said she did it for girls that looked like her I assumed this was referring to some bigger picture regarding Clark. But now it seems the bigger picture only regards Reese?

Not allowing the First Lady to speak to the team before the game because she didn’t pick the team to get this far in the tourney is not exactly “mature” behavior.

And yes it was stupid when Travis Kelce whined “no one picked KC (aside from being BS) same with the UGA player who said people picked them 7-5 (sorry a Florida fan on the Internet doesn’t count), UGA was ranked in the top 5 to start the season

LOL. NO. Mature people don't sit around taking notes about who dissed you. You might mentally remember it but taking notes? Using it as motivation I understand. Has nothing to do with what happened on the court but ya'll keep making excuses.

That's crazy competitor shite and exactly what Michael Jordan would do and get praised for.

Michael Jordan flew a high school teammate to his hall of fame speech so he could talk about the guy beating him for the last spot on the team in 10th grade.

Not her display. Her writing down all those who dissed her on social media and then set on vengeance and retribution.

I'm not a Taylor Swift fan either but that's what half of her songs are - stick backs to those who have dumped or dissed her.

They were getting ready for the pinnacle of their careers and they were using the "snubb" for fuel. The last thing they want to do is hear some bullshite for 5 minutes for a photo op.

If this was done by anyone else they would call it savage and an example of how competitive they are.
