I get the religion thing but I also think there is a correlation between drinking vs outdoor recreational when you live in a place with such incredible outdoor opportunities like hiking, backpacking, mountain biking, etc. you don't drink as much because you want to enjoy getting outside the next day and taking advantage of the opportunities with a clear mind.

I think there's a fair amount truth to your statement.

Alcohol shpuld be banned completely on college campuses

The Citadel was a dry campus and was one of the reasons I went there.

It had it plusses and minuses. One of the big minuses was there was a lot of binge drinking. Guys thought they had to get a weeks worth in from Friday at 16:00 until Sunday at 22:30....

LDS/Mormonism is no crazier than any other religion.. it's just NEWER .

Im not sure about that.. id have to think about it .

What I am certain about is that drinking and the driving should be banned completely.. Like, NO amount of alcohol should be ok before getting behind the wheel of a 3,000 lb weapon ... not even one sip of beer... Zero tolerance.. we should have such a stigma against mixing cars and booze, that people should look as unfavorably on it as they we way we now look at cigarette smoking, if you hope to live a long healthy life.. it's simply not an option .. plus, there are just way too many ways in 2026 to avoid ever drinking and driving .. Uber, designate a driver, go sober, drink at a bar within walking distance of home, etc etc etc .

I don't think I could ever be a Mormon or an Adventist but I do admire their discipline.

Maybe it’s time for me to convert. As an atheist, I’ve been looking for something with participants who are not hypocritical and miserable, “keeping up with the joneses” types.

Those Utah mountains looook nice too.

When they came to WVU in 2024 they ran out with a WV state flag as they took the field, never saw that before. Also they made a nice donation to the area food bank.

I grew up Catlick .

We were taught that a guy could turn water into wine.. We were also told that another dude could literally part an entire sea ... Guess it's "edgy" of me to question such tall tales though, right ?

I've always enjoyed having a few cold beers on gameday, but that place looks like Valhalla compared to some of the scenes at LSU this weekend.

Can always just binge drink at home like the Baptists.

BYU's football stadium set up against the mountains is really neat.

In fairness I think everything is "setup against the mountains" in that area. It is a neat area. Spent a few days in Ogden, SLC, Park City.
