I was just curious how 8 runs stacked up against UGA in G1 and G2 of SEC series this year. 11 runs were the most UGA has scored in G1 all year. The next highest was 10 vs State.

So here goes, 8 runs vs UGA in G1 would've resulted in a 5-2-1 record. In G2, 6-1-1. And FTR in G3, 3-3-2.

We're fielding better. Hitting better (even without Jake and Stanny). But our pitching is still the weak link. Heck, apart from pitching we're playing some very good baseball now.

I get it - we miss Casan and Cooper. They would typically be worth as a minimum 9-innings. That's a whole game,

But ask yourself this, from the start of the season until now, how many of our arms show significant improvement? It's slim pickin's. IDK if it's a fire Yeskie moment, but Jay is gonna have to take a long look at why improvement in our arms is few and far between.

In 2024 it was the same story with the bullpen but we were able to overcome it somehow.

Yeskie isn’t getting fired. That narrative needs to stop. He’s taken 4 different teams to the college World Series and 3 teams to the finals winning it twice. He didn’t just stop knowing how to coach pitchers. For some reason, two of our main pitchers we were counting on have regressed this year, Williams and Rizy. We haven’t had the top line starters that we have had in past years and our catchers can’t block pitches in the dirt, leading to too many wild pitches.

Yeskie isn’t being fired. Every year we’ve had a down year in pitching we’ve come back and had a really good season. I expect the same next year. We had a few arms we were counting on get hurt and few regress. That happens. 1 bad year isn’t going to get you fired.

Other than that, Mrs Lincoln, how was the play?

I'm predicting less pain on a Saturday night. How about just 2 runs and a seven inning run rule

He is not going to get fired. He should not get fired. But it does not mean that he is above criticism. We had 10 pitchers return this season, how many of them look better than they did before? You always expect a couple to drop a little. But when so many of them regress, it’s hard to not notice. With that said, Yeskie is the main guy but he isn’t the only person coaching the pitchers.

well, a big difference is the year the pitchers are in. The years our pitchers have made jumps and we win big, the starters and main relievers are juniors and seniors. Guys with 1 year left before they go pro.

This year:

Evans, sophomore
Schmidt, sophomore
Rizy, sophomore
Cooper Williams, sophomore
Lachenmayer, sophomore
Plog, sophomore
Ricken, freshman
Sheerin, sophomore
Theophilus, freshman
Paz, freshman

That's a lot of young arms that are still figuring things out. A lot of guys who've pitched just as good, if not better, than some upper class men who haven't been consistent.

If we can keep the above guys and add a few arms, I expect our pitching to make a big jump next year. That's a lot of young talent.
