Great player and Tiger!
Was larger than life on campus and at Broussard Hall - very respected and truly a good guy.

My dad used to know someone on the equipment staff way back then and this is supposed to be a practice jersey that AJ wore...

Alot of those guys are before even my time...
But most of the younger fans weren't even around for Kevin Faulk.
I became a fan during the Arnsparger years. And as such, I greatly appreciate the golden age we are in, having endured everything between Arnsparger and Saban.

My freshman year in 1978 Alexander had a class in Allen Hall, I'd see him every time I went to my class.
Guy had the widest shoulders I'd ever seen. He was as big as some of his linemen.

Single handily beat the jets in the 82 AFC championship

What's funny is that it's heavy as shite compared to a jersey you would see now. He also made me a helmet when I was 4 or 5 and got a leftover roll of the real tape that they used on the helmets. Gave that to my nephew though.

I miss those helmet stickers as well

My childhood best friend’s dad was AJ’s cousin. He used to talk about him all time when I was a kid. That’s all I got.

His family was next door neighbors to my uncle and his family in Reserve so I got to meet him at their house one time. Also when I was in Little League he signed a picture for me. I think it was right after his rookie of the year campaign with the Dolphins in 77. I became a huge fan and that 82 AFC title game was a highlight of my young life. 3 picks in that game of Richard Todd, including a pick six. And David Woodley started the Super Bowl for that team. I remember my first game I ever attended at Tiger Stadium was I believe in 1977 and everybody had an opinion about whether Ensminger or Woodley should be in. They ran a platoon system and whoever was in, the other guy was better. Started a long tradition at LSU of the back up being the best QB on the team. Until this year.

Met him myself in locker room and I was a freshman as well in 78. Unbelievable how big they were even back then. AJ was a beast!

AJ is who I mentioned in that "who was your first LSU man-crush" slightly creepy thread.

I saw him play in the LA High School All Star Game. He blocked three punts in the game. I was sitting next to Bennie Ellender, the Tulane Coach. He was sick at missing out on him as a player.

His brother was my mechanic. Met him a few times

His sister Dollie was fine...

Literally. He weighed 235, which was about the size of our OL.
