Yeah I know, it’s the offseason. If Lane keeps that tradition, who gets it? I’m going with T Green for 7. I think even as a tight end, he’s a skill player cheat code that should get the nod. Not sure about 18.

Along those same lines, is there a "leadership counsel" amongst the players. I'm thinking that was a thing with Les and Ed, BK not sure and well let's see how LK approaches the subject.

Number 7 has literally become a damn curse. Every player since LF (10 years ago mind you) that has worn it either underperformed, got injured, or cut. Stop with it.

18’s fine. 7 is stupid and the reason I care is that I hate seeing players always fall short of fans’ expectations and get shite on for it. Every single player that number was bestowed upon should have given it up because they didn’t deserve it at one time or another according to the rant (even LF7…I was there, I seen’t it).
And as far as the players liking it, I think if you asked most of the team they probably wouldn’t give a shite.

It’s because fans expect them to be perfect because they have a number slapped on them. LF even got trashed for it a few times.

so as a fan completely on the outside looking in, you hope the players discontinue something they look forward to?
forget the fact you think Perk may have sucked/underachieved, or the TxTech transfer or any other busts using either number. YOU hope the players discontinue a tradition started by players and carried on by players?
you know what, why don't you walk into the team meeting when they're announcing the numbers, and tell them how you feel. that should settle it.
