, the TAF donation will be the same as an 8 game season right?
Sure...because you're paying for the right to buy your seats. But, total ticket costs will be two games cheaper than this season...though I'd guess there will be an increase on tickets between now and then anyway.

Verge has already said they're trying to move the tulane game to baton rouge next year which will probably happen given we are LSU and they are tulane. it'll be ok.
Correct. Verge essentially said LSU must and will have 7 home games in 2009.

I'd much rather have 8 home games, but we've been lucky the past years, if 6 home games and a 'road' game at the dome is what it takes to get a quality opponent to come to Tiger Stadium, then I'm for it. UCLA, Tenn. Georgia, OSU, SC, UVa all are willing to give up a home game for a better match up, we should be able to as well. Besides, the TV revenues from a premier matchup can't hurt matters either.

All TV revenues are sent to the conference office to be split equally among conference members.

absolutely.
that's part of the genius behind the "tradition fund" fees approach.
It's all good, though. Gotta keep up with the SEC arms race.

Ahhh, so then we are already reaping the benefits of the OIe Miss- Wake Forest match up? I think we should try and play an OOC with a Texas school if for no other reason then to further strengthen the LSU brand their, especially with all the Alums that live in the Houston area. but making it happen is a whoooole 'nother animal

YES! Or at the very least, a worthy opponent...

Which is exactly why none of them want to play us. We are already shopping in their store too much to suit them...

I think the 2009 schedule looks really good. Who cares if we have 8 home games when you're looking at more cream puff teams? Quality over quantity.

It looked better when it had Southern Miss & Houston instead of ULL & TBA.

And it's going to keep happening as long as we let them get away with it.

You can't say that you aren't at least a little disappointed.
I certainly can. I'm not at all disappointed. I think it's about damned time we started scheduling some good non-conference opponents in home and home series. Playing at Washington next year means we'll get to play them at home in a future year. That'll beat the hell out of beating the hell out of some Sun Belt cupcake or FCS team.

VT win this year really helped LSU win the national championship. I think in the long run, it benefited us.

Several threads about our sucky ooc schedule, now we're complaining about too few home games. Our administration really can't win with this fanbase, can they?
that only makes sense if it was the same peoplebitching about both
i for one, have been against scheduling an additional road OOC game on the years we play tulane at home since the series restarted
