It was unfortunate to stick him in at starting RT with zero notice, and that definitely affected pass protection against Ole Miss.

But he deserves a shot somewhere, and I see no reason whatsoever to leave Mubenga in there to make the same frick ups week in and week out. Give the freshman a shot with a full week to prep.

There seems to be a disconnect in the LIne coaching. If Davis is making the calls on starters he needs to have it taken away. Curne is the best run blocker we have. He needs to play guard.

Curne is the only OL that you can watch play and say definitively: "Yeah that guys going to play on Sundays".

Mebenga is injured with a "day to day' high ankle sprain.

If I had to bet, I would expect that we see Adams, Echols, Moore, Thompson, Curne vs South Carolina.

Mubenga isnt the problem. Josh Thompson is.

Hes been practicing at RT all season. I agree he is a natural guard, but its not like they just threw him out there.

Good move coach Davis and thanks for consulting with me before making that move.

Both have not been good.

My best guess is Echols starts vs SC and never gives it up.

Tyree Adams needs to improve because there is no one else here

Hoping Moore will be fully recovered from his ankle after these 2 weeks.

Can anyone challenge Thompson? Is Solomon Thomas recovered from his foot injury? What about Tyler Miller? He got here late but another highly coveted recruit.

At this point I don't hold out much hope for this group. Whether it's scheme of Joe Sloan or Brad Davis the OL has not done well in years.

To be fair I think he needs to start at Right guard. Echols needs to start at left guard and Moore and Tyree Adams can be logged in at Center and LT respectively.

Need open competition at the right tackle spot between the rest of the guys. But Thompson is not the answer at right guard.

Mubenga and Chester are not SEC caliber starters.

Reminds me of when the saints put Trevor Penning at right tackle. Much better at guard. Road grader.

Too bad he has to play RT, RG. Don’t think he can play all three at the same time.
