Okay, ZOOMER.
Boomer SOONER. They beat LSU last week.
Now go play on an invention created by my generation while your protests, pierces nipples, and sports green hair. Don't forget your vape kit en route to your minimum wage job at Walmart.
DEAF VALLEY! Because we're better than you.

Was in the stadium as an LSU senior. That was so sweet because of what Archie had done to us in the previous years. Still see the oranges flying.

Yes. I wish I still had that car. Wrapped around a tree on sorority row when I was a freshman at LSU.

I was there.
It was glorious. Poor Archie had a cast on his arm and was running for his life most of the night.

Archie was hurt and later gave props to the LSU defense for not hitting him too hard
He said when he was sacked it was like they were laying him on the ground.

Thanks to Bert Jones, Tommy Casanova, Craig Burns, Louis Cascio, Mike Anderson, Chris Dantin, Art Cantrell, Andy Hamilton, Richard Picou, Ken Kavanaugh, John Sage, Al Coffee, Ronnie Estay, Jimmy Ledoux, and many others.
You forgot to mention Archie's broken arm.

I loved that game. It was homecoming and Delta Gamma won a game ball signed by the team. Their decorations had the slogan "BREAK ARCHIE'S ARMEE!" It may have been spelled Army. I can't remember!

Mac had a boatload of talent on that team in 1969 and 1970. Weren’t most of the standouts Louisiana boys? We had some tough SOB’s in our state back then.

Bishop, my dad, Ricki Owens #53 LB played as well. Him and your dad were the best of friends. Spent a few great fishing trips with your dad. Great team

That LSU - Ole Miss game was a big deal in 1970. LSU was 8-2, Ole Miss 7-2. Oranges literally fell from the sky that night!
LSU's win made them SEC champions. It was believed that if LSU could upset Nebraska in the Orange that it would pave the way to an LSU NC, as there were losses by elite teams on New Year's Day 1971-- Texas lost to Notre Dame 24-11 and Ohio State fell to Stanford.
Well LSU played a solid game vs the Huskers that night, and actually led 12-10 in the fourth! But Nebraska's running attack, the first witnessed that season against the Tigers, was too much to overcome-- Joe Orduna scored two rushing TDs-- only the second and third TDs on the ground against LSU that year.

I was just shy of 1 year old. Maybe this is the reason for the Manning hate of LSU?

They were nearly all Louisiana baws, with a handful from East Texas

I’m as Gen X as you can get. I have 2 kids who are LSU grads and own my own business of 22 years. I’m sorry I don’t get the Oklahoma comment. Were you having a medical event? I would understand if you get confused sometimes. Again. HAVE A NICE DAY to you Sir.

My first game in Tiger stadium. At the end of the game I was sure that I had been in church. Daydream about that game still today.

Yes I remember Mr Owens. My parents always spoke highly of him. Sorry for your loss. He was a great man.
