I’m not crazy about Coach O. But if you can’t just stop and give him credit for this then you are a complete moron. Your brain contains no grey matter. Momentum let’s attempt to build some and play the hand we’ve been dealt.

C'mon man. I don't get overly excited because I always get nervous about players flipping, but saying "Bama lock" is just dumb.

Isn't 2020 in fact a long way away?

#4 in the country. And still #4 in the SEC. That's a little bit of a problem.
Although I'm extremely pumped about Ricks and Stingley. No one is going to complete a pass on us for 2 years.

Good grief this is for 2020? Why even post it? We arn't finished with 2019.

A 5* commit to LSU is always good news no matter how far away it is. It at the very least shows that the elite recruits still see LSU as a good school to play ball for.

I will say that he hasn’t committed yet because his dad wanted him to be 100% certain about the school he chose, and didn’t want him to waver on it. He then committed to us, as said he’s not wavering and is already talking about the Cali kids he will bring. USC, and Ohio State is the biggest completion. Meyer gone at Ohio State is golden, and he has stated how much of a mess USC is. He knows it’s DBU, and loves Raymond and Bill Busch. I think he stays with us.

This is big news. The kid is serious and his parents are serious.

That's great and I hope he signs. I just find it odd that people can get worked up about someone saying "a long way to go" when it's almost a full year before the kid can sign.

Nah.
It's Bama and everyone else. It isn't going to matter who's 2nd or 5th.

Because, believe it or not, an overwhelming majority commitments actually stick and people saying this seem miserable, or like they're upset that this staff is possibly not as awful as they thought.

If that's what you get out of it, you're the one that seems miserable to me. Going out of your way to look for any reason to make people out to hate the coaches. Did you stop to think that this was the thought process with the previous coach as well? Maybe people want to wait until signing day to celebrate the class. It has absolutely zero to do with not believing Coach O can recruit. That's his forte.

Recruiting is one thing, and it's a big thing... But if you can't develop the talent, it means nothing. We've seen that LSU can develop guys on defense. Offensively? Not nearly so much.
So LSU doesn't have many RBs, WRs and even OL in the NFL?
QBs? No doubt.

It gets tiresome, doesn't it?
There is no tolerance for critical analysis on this board. It's worse than ever.

I'm not miserable. I don't really enjoy people with wet blanket personalities though. I threw out two possibilities why they would comment, but maybe there are other reasons as you point out. I'm just not sure why they feel compelled to try and pour water on a thread celebrating the fact that we just got a commitment from a top 10 player though.

I get it and you do make a valid point. There could have been more of an attempt to congratulate as well as give an opinion that there is a long way until signing day. I'm just saying that, in general, the lack of over enthusiasm doesn't necessarily equal hate.
