To think someone is actually paid a salary to write this for the Advocate.

Marcus Allen was indeed on that team but, the Trojans were actually led by eventual Heisman winner Charles White that year.

The poor writing is worse than the factual error. Who would write,
quote:

led by eventual Heisman winner in running back Marcus Allen.
instead of, "led by eventual Heisman winner running back Charles White"? What does the "in" do in that sentence?

Charles white was the starting tailback and freshman Marcus Allen was the fullback.

That USC team was loaded with elite NFL type talent and our undersized and undermanned boys pushed on by the greatest fans in football gave USC all they wanted and then some. Without help from the refs we win.

I am proud to say I was there.

I was there, too, sitting in lower South end zone. I remember the SC Offensive line being giants compared to our guys.
Holy shite:
Don Mosebar- 1st round, 1983
Keith Van Horne-1st round, 181
Brad Budde- 1st round, 1980
Roy Foster- 1st round, 1982
Chris Foote, 6th round played 104 NFL games

Has to be the best OL to ever set foot in Tiger Stadium

split crew SEC and PAC 10.....or was it PAC 8 then..... but the big no call and the big call were PAC officials... but fear not they also hosed bama too in that time frame - leading to a rift between sec and pac officials.

Had that great quote about Tiger Stadium: "This place makes Notre Dame look like Romper Room."

A group of LSU fans met them at the airport and tigerbaited them on the way to the hotel, and then from the hotel to the game.

Good times...

I was at that game in the student section. My observations: 1) Had no idea football players could be that big...USC players/line were huge!; 2) the stadium was rocking all night....all night! 3) Crowd stayed all night, and after the end of the game, remained in their seats so proud of the Tigers. One of the only times I have ever been in Tiger stadium that I was so proud after a loss.

Anyone else there on that night? What were your observations!

Was there also. Never sat down the entire game. Hands down the most exciting game in Tiger Stadium for me.

Impressive!! But how did you miss arguably the best OL to ever play the game in college or NFL. Anthony Munoz, USC All American 1978 & 1979, and in NFL 11 consecutive years All Pro & made Pro Bowls from 1981-1991
