I think everyone arguing over vertebrate is missing the point. The fact is JJ is being accused of injuring another person by kicking them when he was down and defenseless. THAT IS ALL THAT IS NEEDED. The extent of the injury is a moot point. The existence of the injury is enough to get the ball rolling.

Agreed. I was just trying to help people understand the difference ... however, I'm not sure if I've succeeded

Actually, the title to this thread is wrong. The woman in question is not a 3rd party witness. She gave her testimony to a RESPONDING officer. This means she gave her testimony at the scene of the fight. Sgt Stone said yesterday that they did not yet have any 3rd party witnesses. This is not new information. She was obviously connected to the injured participants in some matter. The fact that we are hearing about her statement now...does not make it new.

She described the guy as an "unknown white male" so she was "obviously connected".

Just because u Structure your sentences to make yourself sound intelligent and use phrases like "these are the facts" doesn't make u any more right than anyone else here.

You don't know what makes a "major injury" and you certainly don't know If this meets those criteria per medical privacy laws.

So STFU with your self righteous act.

A second degree assault charge does.

That's what the police are going after. Sorry, you got problems bring it up with the cops.

Wait until all the ones claiming she was a friend of Lowery find out her statements were redacted.

Similar boat for the ones talking about shattered vertebrae as minor after finding out dude left a nice boot print in the guys face.

The thread title is incorrect and needs to be changed.

From the article:

"Police Chief Dewayne White has said investigators have conflicting statements from people they have interviewed about the fight and that they have not yet talked to anyone from a third party."

It's only a bar fight and one of the victims had multiple cracked vertebrae. I don't think that excuse is going to fly, you can't say it was an innocent bar fight when people seriously get hurt and expect a slap on the wrist.

Miles' needs to get a handle on these players. Everyone deserves a second chance, but if it happens again (and depending on the severity), they may need the Eric Smith treatment.
