2023 will always go down as a huge what if. Worst LSU defense ever paired with the best/second best LSU offense ever.

By the end of the 1st Quarter of Game 1, there will be at least 1 "3rd and insert new DC name" post on here

The biggest problem for our defense in our 3 losses:

FSU 9/14
Ole Miss 9/16
Alabama 11/14

We are ranked 105th overall on total defense.
Why should third down be any different than the other downs? Our D is bad.

I think 3rd and to the House is more accurate.

How can the new staff be any worse? Seriously.

3rd & Chavis
3rd & Aranda
3rd & House

Just upholding the tradition.

It's significant because it indicates how many times the defense had a shot to get off the field and didn't.

I wish i had a count of how many offensive records were set against us this year. Seemed like every game an offense and/or QBs had a handful of school records in hand.

It’s hard to believe any other team was worse.

it baffles my mind how we could have been in the playoff with the outstanding offense but were in some mickey mouse bowl with an unranked team due to the terrible defense. good things to come in 2024

Part of a 13 win season and SEC Championship Team #2 Ranked D.
Part of a 15-0 Season a SEC Title and Natty. #25 Ranked D

I just never understood how you could go into the film room on Monday after a game and try and explain no improvement on those 3rd downs the defense gave up from game to game. By game number 7 or 8 if you are still giving up 3rd down after 3rd down start blitzing every 3rd down or try something else. Nothing every changed though. No improvement the whole season. House had to go.

So Matt House often called a soft zone when the opponents had third and long probably because he was scared of the DBs getting burned in man coverage. It's the right call the issue was LSU DBs were ALWAYS late breaking to the receiver catching the ball in holes between zone coverage which allowed them YAK. Zone is the right call but our back 7 were not coached properly or incapable of learning how to play zone. When LSU went man the very few times they did, it seemed the LSU D had more success. Not complete success, just more.
