CBK and Less’s offensive minds are not even comparable.
CBK- brilliant Will figure it out
Less- its offensive to compare les’s mind to anyone especially CBK

QB solid
RB pretty solid
WR very solid
OL most solid

DL- meh but having the best DL coach in the country will help
LB- solid
DB- not very good but once again a better db coach and way better scheme to off set a lack of talent some.

I’m with you. We could be very pleasantly surprised but practical odds are very much against it.

Penn hasn't been solid hopefully this year that changes. Offense should be good to great.

Defense is a question mark until we see them on the field.

I’d love to see those safeties creeping in to stop the run and see nuss launching 70 yd bombs over the top

It would have been hard to be the focal point with the receivers we had, but that doesn’t mean the Jayden-less run game was bad.

LSU isn't going to be able to just line up and bully people with the run game. They couldn't do it last year, so why do fans think they will be able to do it now, with the same offensive linemen?

Jayden Daniels, Nabers and Thomas took the pressure off the offense in the run game. Daniels ran wild, primarily on his own, while Nabers and Thomas were a threat on every down.

Even with that, the offensive line couldn't pick up a yard or two against Texas A&M.

No, the passing game still has to lead the way. This "long, grinding, ball control offense" is a thing of fantasies. If LSU can't be really effective through the air, that run game is dead in the water.

I think you're right that long slow drives will help to wear down opponents defense, while preserving our Defense's legs.
Hopefully, this can allow the D to be sufficient considering the lack of depth.

That said, in today's style of play, with RPOs, etc. The offense tries it's best to take what the defense gives you...

Everything I've heard was the WR room is stacked and has more depth than last year.

Well, when you have a QB that can run like JD5,…..you have to try to build on that. We had a running game but it didn’t feature RBs.

In a few situations in the past we had become too predictable against teams with equal talent and lost.

IMO, on offense, the focus will not only be more balanced but to be less predictable.

On defense the whole issue was D-line coaching and poor execution. Notice; we now have two D-line coaches instead of none. Improvement is expected.

I think we are gonna drive down the field a lot quicker than people think.

There are several differences from Miles until now. For one, we have a QB that can take the lid off, so they can't stack the box like they used to against Miles. Secondly, much more talent at QB and OL. We have the potential for a star at RB, as well as TE, and I am NEVER worried about the WR talent at LSU. Lacy will be a stud this year, and he might not lead the team with that Liberty transfer cat, and the State transfer dude....who are both experienced.

I believe we will run it very successfully because of our OL and the fact is they have to respect the deep ball with Nuss, and he will be given time to make them pay when they don't.

Yeah, people are acting like Nuss will be just dumping down....he has the best arm in quite a while at LSU, AND is already good and going through progressions and has an OL that will allow him to do that. Now, I think what people are hoping for is that we take longer driving the ball and wear down defenses and control the clock, giving our D more time to rest and quite frankly keeping them off the field as much as possible.

Yep. Ohio St QBs aren’t too great either. There’s a thing about no Ohio St QB in the NFL ever doing well.

K Jackson should really help this situation. He would be my starter but what do I know.

Josh would be my third down back because of his blocking and short yardage toughness. Losing him really hurts our flow.

Passing and running QBs are here to stay. It’s exciting and fun to watch and relates to the video game era. BUT there is nothing like watching your team physically take the will of an opposing team. I miss those days.

Frick I sound like a boomer.

If you think that was bad you should have been here for the Charley McClendon era.
