Maybe we need to analyze our recruitment of pitchers because once you get by the Big 3 there ain't much there. You would think a program of LSU's caliber could recruit more than just 3 good pitchers.

We're so desperate we've gone to Jones and Haydel and that experiment is now looking like a fluke.

We lost a lot of depth after last year and good pitchers don't grow on trees. When our young guys start to grow up we'll be fine.

There is a gap in middle relief in this team. That's true. Of course, it's pretty much the only hole on this team.

I love guys like you who think the identification of a single flaw in a team is justificaiton for criticism of the program as a whole. It says a lot about you.

You are a simple thinker.

Typical Fairhope thread. Dude always thinks the world is coming to an end when LSU loses 1 game. I wouldn't pay too much attention to him.

We are all waiting for the results of your analysis of our recruitiment of pitchers. What is the hold up?

In hindsight, I agree.

He already gave it to you. We need more really good ones.

Like I said, he's a very simple thinker.

I know this is just one game......no duh. But this has been going on all season.

I'm just looking ahead. Is it possible to win regionals and in Omaha with just 2 starters and a closer? Somebody needs to step up big time. Maybe Bradshaw.

With our offense it's definitely enough to get to Omaha, and if we can stay in the winner's bracket once we get there you get enough rest that 2 starters can carry you.

Do any of the other tops teams that might make it to Omaha have 3 top starters? With the premium on pitching I would think not but haven't really followed anyone outside of the SEC.

This question illustrates your ignorance. Nobody who follows college baseball would ask this type of question. And, guys like that shouldn't be posting ignorant criticisms of a team, or worse a program as a whole.

But, I'll explain it for you anyway.

We're probably going to host as a national seed. That means we are going to likely have a very favorable regional from an opponent standpoint.

So, in the regional, we'll have the option of throwing Ross in game 1 or maybe even someone worse if we play a real weak #4. That leaves our 2 studs, Ranaudo and Coleman for games 2 and 3 with Ross as a setup man or game 5 starter if needed (if he doesn't pitch in game 1). So, we'll basically have a pitching advantage in every game we play in the regional.

In a super regional, it's just a 3 game series. So, given that we have only a single SEC series loss, it should tell you everything you need to know. LSU will have an advantage. Of course, since we'll likely play a very good team, it will be a fairly slight one. I'd put us as a 65/35 favorite in that series.
