Going to hear Toadies next month in New Orleans. Playing Rubberneck album all the way through.

I’ve got the Advocate front page somewhere - “BRING BACK THE MAGIC!”
Great win

Game wasn't on TV, if I remember correctly. I had to babysit my younger sister, listened to every second on the radio. It was an unreal fan moment, I will never forget it

I was 19 and bought tickets 2 hours before the game. My buddy and I were in the endzone where Twillie picked it off...also where Patrick Nix got slammed, because the defense didn't hear the whistle over the crowd.

I remember I lived in Pearl, MS at the time, and ESPN was broadcasting San Diego St. and some other school, but I was watching so I could see the other scores as they came across the screen and I went crazy when I saw the final score.

Was at a sports bar in Nashville. Bar was so packed for that game you couldn't get in. Watched it thru the windows with many others in the parking lot.

Cityzen!
What ever happened to that guy? And the other one that had the really good LSU highlights on Youtube?

Auburn was on probation, and was banned from television. I was in 7th or 8th grade. I remember reading in the Times Picayune how the game was "a sell out," which was rare back then (which will tell you how dark of a time it was for LSU football), and it was exciting to know how crazy Tiger Stadium would be, especially after losing for so long. I knew there was no way we were going to lose that game. We listened to the game on WWL from a radio in our kitchen.

Student section was on fire that night. So was the rest. A hungry fanbase and motivated talent on the field makes for great times. Even a 28-10 loss to UF at 11 am was a raucous event in 1995. I miss that universal passion for Tiger football. Great time to be a young man.

Tiger Stadium really rocks when we are the underdog playing a ranked opponent.

I posted this weeks ago in a thread asking if we’ve ever cried actual tears over an LSU game and it applies here, too. Why this still is the best LSU game I’ve ever seen:
When I was a kid (somewhere around 8-10 years old) watching them in the Hallman years, I cried a few times after close losses. I was inconsolable after we threw away the game against Auburn in 94.
I had a year to stew about it, but I was a year older and when Auburn came to TS in 95 I climbed, with my family, to the top row of the west upper deck, and I was excited but now mature enough to weather my expectations, especially considering they were a top 5 team and we were trying to rebuild after the worst era of LSU football.
But then we scored an early TD, and the defense played lights out, and Lo and behold we had a 6 point lead late. And then they started mounting a late drive. With every first down I got more nervous, thinking “oh Lord not again.” I remember holding my dad’s hand shaking when they lined up on 4th down with 4 seconds left. I couldn’t take it.
Then Troy Twillie intercepted Patrick Nix’s pass.
That is the only time in my entire life I have ever cried tears of joy. And not just cried, sobbed. My dad lifted me up and bear hugged me, I didn’t sleep for days, and 20 years later my Tiger Droppings handle was born.
Still the best LSU game I’ve ever experienced, and perhaps the single best memory of my childhood.

26 years, holy crap. We were living in NW Florida and I remember our family was at the mall that night. I stayed in the car to listen to the game on 870am because it would come in really well at night. Only thing I remember from it was the Twillie interception and how loud TS sounded over the radio.

Good game. Redemption game for poor Jamie Howard who threw 5 pics vs Auburn in '94 (3 returned for td's). Exciting time to be a LSU fan. That Auburn rivalry became a lot of fun.
