247 has LSU #6, Auburn #8 considering players ON ROSTER NOW, factoring down for transfers, early NFL departures, etc. I would note Auburn has about 10 walk-ons on their Team. LSU has 12 players listed as 5 star in at least one service, but only 4 per 247: Looks about even on paper, not factoring coaching, development, culture, etc, ? Should be a close, hard-fought game ? Why not ?

I expect us to play hard but Auburn is way too much for us. Offensively they will provide fits for our defense.

Offensive line needs to play out of their minds. Auburns D is loaded, they put a lot of pressure on you

I saw that th other day, and I do think we have a shite ton of talent on our team, but I interpret that ranking (seeing as how it says since 2000) as which school has acquired the most talent all around since 2000, not necessarily our current roster. I could be wrong...

Pass completions to Wideouts would be a welcome surprise this week.

Auburns offense is the real deal and their defense is better than Floridas.

Auburn is way better than a Florida team who is lucky to not have started 1-3

Auburn is going to kill us. Hate to say that, but I really feel that way.

I’ll be there rooting for us though.

The only way we win is if after the game people here are all saying stuff like where in the hell did that o an d line come from?

Those rankings don't take into account team need. LSU is thin on the lines, but getting Herron back will certainly help with depth on the d-line. I'm hoping that Lawrence's injury during the Florida games wasn't serious, and that Clapp and the other o-linemen will be 100% next week as well. Having only 2 freshmen on the 0-line instead of 3 definitely was a huge improvement.

Total no. of rated players, no. of 5*,4*, etc., average recruit quality, total team personnel ratings. Of course any time you see ratings like this, the first thing that should come to you mind is "billshit". The initial * ratings are subjective and vary as much from rater to rater as from player to player...that what us pros call analysis of variance. Furthermore, there is no reason to believe that the ratings are additive.
Sure you can add the number of 4 and 5 * guys on the team, but not number of stars. It's a category, not a measurement and at best is ordinal. Might as well add jersey numbers.

All that being said:

LSU
Total: 84 5: 4 4: 48 3: 30 Avg: 90.60 907.10

Troy:

Total: 55 5: 0 4: 0 3: 18 Avg: 78.71 347.59

The big problem isn't so much our defense, though it is an issue.

The main problem is that we dont have a QB and if a game turns into a shootout, we can't win.

Really our only chance in any game left on the schedule is to hold teams to less than 20 points. If we have to score more than 3 TDs to win it's gonna be long afternoon.
