That’s what makes being a sports writer such a great gig. If you’re wrong or right on your analysis, you still have a job. Maybe they shouldn’t play the games?

Yeah, it had nothing to do with the fact that Canada's offense was gimmicky and didn't produce against SEC defenses. Orgeron is why no other major program wanted Canada and he fell all the way to Maryland.

Anonymous coach: "At LSU, if they get eight wins, don't try to spin it like it's a good year, not while the guy in Tuscaloosa is winning 12 or 13."

247Sports take: "Now this guy hits the nail on the head. At a program accustomed to winning, and more importantly competing for championships, continued 8-win seasons isn't going to cut it in the Bayou with the talent the Tigers keep bringing in. At some point, that talent — notably at quarterback — must be developed into elite-level players and the production must follow. LSU's season is always judged by what the Tigers do against Alabama, Auburn and oftentimes Florida. And the Tigers haven't toppled Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide since 2012."

"Who knows what Ed Orgeron is doing? I love Ed, but the chaos he's created on offense is a problem. He got rid of a pretty good offensive coordinator (Matt Canada), they lose two NFL running backs and four offensive linemen, and Steve Ensminger is going to lead them to the promised land?

So what you're saying is:

1) O didn't make a competent hire by not correctly evaluating his "gimmicky" offense
2) Didn't understand how to maybe pivot and get the best out of the resources he had and the decisions he made
3) Didn't develop Canada and guide him to be a better coach so he could be successful

It appears 247 actually has a more in depth, thoughtful analysis than the coaches. They at least weighed the statements against historical norms.

four offensive linemen

Losing Clapp and Weathersby hurts, Malone missed half the season, who's the 4th?

These anonymous Coach things never say anything positive about LSU. That’s because they understand that there really hasn’t been much “positive” about the program in awhile. They also realize that LSU should be competing for national championships and not pretending 8 win seasons is “a good year”..

People flock to negativity on this site like flies to shite. You guys hate O so much that you take anything as fact and can’t look at anything objectively. You truly think 24/7 called up some SEC coaches and said hey tell me what you think about Ed O? Come on

ok so let me get this straight....you accuse others as just accepting this as fact but think its more plausible that 247 just made this article up out of thin air? What would be their reasoning to do that exactly? Yet its others that can't be objective

We have quotes from coaches around the league that say the same shite all of us have been saying since day 1.

And because of that, O supports say their fake.

Actually, I don't necessarily trust the source exactly, like "SEC Coaches" might mean a bunch of ball boys.

The thing is, none of those takes, outside of the meddling rumor, are anything but logical and fairly objective assessments of O and LSU over the last 2 years.

Well, they did call people up when he was auditioning and many around here were using an in division rival in Hugh Freeze as justification for O's hiring.....

It's highly unlikely they just made it up. There are "anonymous coaches" articles all the time. Sometimes they have good things to say and sometimes not so good.
