Add in toles with an actual off-season to development and rep a playbook, and #2 safety coming in. Secondary is deep going forward with this class signing tomorrow.

Just need a new DC. If Pelini is still here it doesn’t matter who we have on the field

He has looked terrible this year, but I refuse to believe he is a bad player. I thought I looked great in 2019 when put in better positions for him to succeed. I still think he can be good with a DC not named Pelini

Why you left out Todd Harris, I thought he has played better than Hampton. At least in run support

If there’s a package that requires Hampton to play deep safety, it needs to be scrapped immediately.

I was thankful that Flott was ejected Saturday night. I cannot believe that the coaches allow him on the field. He is so terrible, that it is unimaginable that he plays on a SEC defense. On the worst defense that I have ever seen at LSU, he is the absolute worst player to ever take the field at LSU. There has been some bad players, but UF was actually disappointed that he was ejected.

Derick Davis Jr (247) says hello.

Scouting Profile:

Comparison

Malcolm Jenkins
Philadelphia Eagles

Safety build with body type to carry 210 pounds. Physical, tough and plays nasty. Has man-cover ability. Mentality to play in box and runs well enough to play free safety. Nickel ability. Capable blitzer. Instinctual player who tracks ball well. Good change of direction. Strong on jams and re-routes well. Shows good acceleration and closing speed. Strong tackler. Must continue to add upper body strength. Refining back pedal and adding hip flexibility important. Ability to play for elite program as true freshman. Second day NFL draft pick potential

I wouldnt mind moving mcglothern over to FS. he was a true ballhawk in high school. flott has to earn his way back on the field next year to me. way to any blown coverages. but again a ton of our secondary seems to have regressed at the hands of pelini. hampton included

This is an interesting take. I’ll ignore the freshmen safeties because that’s not happening, but I do believe McGlothern and Flott/Ward givers the coaches varying tools to use depending on the personnel we face. If the other team trots out a Racey McMath then McGlothern would be a good choice to bully him. If Bama trots out last year’s lineup of speedsters McGlothern needs to stay on the bench, and Flott/Ward are your guys.

Several possible scenarios. Could see Ryan at nickel and Davis as a starter at safety. I want to say Davis is an early enrollee, so that would certainly help.
