Beloso can’t be the DH

Sorry. I was behind him all the way. But he was given a more than fair shot

I see no way Beloso cracks an opening day lineup here

If he does so happen to stay, he will need to benefit from an injury or someone else absolutely bombing

If there is a way we land both Berry and Holgate and add it to what we have offensively already with our pitching we might win every game 22-12 or something dumb like that

For those leaving Pearson off, do you not expect him to make it to campus? With his speed and power, I don’t see how he’s on the bench if he’s at LSU.

I mean we kind of said the same thing with Drost, I feel like they are pretty similar.

SEC is Tough adjustment & just hard to pencil in a freshman. Though Peason will be a year older as a college Freshman, so maybe that helps him. Idk

Well that all depends on his response to Johnson’s coaching. He hit his freshman year. He started 2020 on a tear. He only struggled last year. I don’t know what happened but I’m not ready to say just throw the kid away. There’s a good chance that whatever was wrong can be fixed.

Eddie Smith screwed him up.

I’m not really ready to say that either. Eddie had good offenses at every other stop and this years offense wasn’t terrible just inconsistent. What went wrong this year? Again I don’t really know. Was it just a young team that struggled to buy in? Was it a culture problem? Talent problem? Was Paul overriding Eddie on things?

I don’t know. What I do know is that Beloso has been a good hitter before and Eddie Smith has been a good coach before.

I think he'll make it to campus. I don't think you can automatically pencil him into the lineup, though. I like him and Stevenson to push for early playing time but it could be crowded out there. Pearson can play 2B, too.

We should have our assistant coaches within a few days and that could open more players coming to LSU.

I think the staff will have taken shape by next weekend. The roster may take at least another week to take shape, though. We should all be able to take a nap by, say, 7/17ish.

You want a guy with an .830 fielding percentage who has never played short stop to move the freshman all-sec guy off the position?

It definitely will not be Berry at SS. He’ll be at 3rd or 1st. But Mikey Romero is an absolute stud and will make a push to get on the field early. Don’t be surprised if you see Thompson shifted to 2nd, Morgan to CF, Doughty stays home, and Berry goes to 1st.

I think Romero is a 2022 kid. Won’t be here next year
