Of course EVERY season is important. We all have hopes of our Tigers competing for the SEC title every year. 2019 was unbelievable - we all in the RANT "should" at least agree on that. I think 2020 season will be very important for establishing LSU's top-tier reputation this decade. Not only did we lose some great players from 2019 season but we also lost some great coaches. We will be ranked very high (probably higher than we should) coming into the 2020 season. An unproven QB for starters highlights the list. Ensminger won't have Brady and we lose Aranda. I'm anxious to see what happens in 2020 probably more than any other year. I'm hoping for the best and I know Orgeron and Ensminger have put in the work to keep LSU in the discussion for another title. The Tigers come out of this coming season respectable I think we'll be good for a long time. What do you guys/gals think? Just curious. I may be worrying about nothing per usual..... This season will test Coach O's ability to reload and sustain more than any other to this point.

I think he's up to the task.

This season will test how good Coach O really is. With all of the players and coaches he’s lost, people think we are just going to be a one time championship team under O. He’s constantly proving everyone wrong and I’ve got a feeling he’s going to this year and for the next few seasons. Remember what he said, “we comin, we comin, and we ain’t backing down.”

I think that when you lose that many players and coaches your gonna have a step back.

I think that’s getting to 10 wins should be the goal and it’s absolutely attainable.

I think LSU will inevitably be very good for the foreseeable future. I don't see LSU falling off as long as Ed O holds the controls.

Yes. It's why were not considered elite. We have that great year but then in between we are ok or good.

Maybe, but even though LSU lost a lot in the terms of skill position players and coaches this off-season, they still have the core of the offense and defense coming back. The lines should wreak havoc this year. I also expect the same offensive scheme. Coach E isn't throwing the playbook away just because Brady isn't there

LSU could step back from 60 passing TDs to 35 and still compete for a championship. Think about how crazy that is.

Beat Bama + 9 or more regular (preferably more) season wins and we will be in good shape. This year is gonna test the staff and players but O seems to do best when he can rally his team around proving the doubters wrong. Going into this season there will be plenty of doubters.

Not 2020 alone, but the next 2-3 seasons are time to step up and prove that we are not a one-hit wonder like 2010 Auburn, that we didn’t just catch “lightning in a bottle,” and that O is more than just another Gene Chizik.

Really do not see why 2020 is any different from any other year. Player & coached come and go. Maybe not at the level of this year’s loses, but it is not new. O has done a pretty good job in just a few years and proven he quickly recognizes mistakes & corrects them, quickly.

2019 was a year no one has ever seen, and probably not see again. The 2020 team has a lot of potential, but will take a season to truly mature, especially at QB. Look back at Burrow’s first year. 10 wins would be impressive with all the changes, but get past week 2 & TU, anything can happen. If the team gets a little swagger early, they may even get back to the final 4. That would be story !

I think the change to the spread, allowed most of the players that won awards, to come to the fore front and show their great skills....had we not moved to the spread, I don't think so many awards would have been won by LSU...The good thing is we will stay in the spread and be more knowledgeable in the second year, and our defense will be better.

We are already ranked lower than we should be in several “way too early” top 25 lists.

Yes LSU lost a bunch of starters. However, because of injuries and pot suspensions several key players got two or more SEC starts. Ed Ingram for instance is not counted as a returning starter.. Rosenthal started three games. Chasen Hines started a couple of games as a freshman and played a good bit.

We get Harris back on Defense. Damone Clark played a lot last year. Baskerville has a lot of game reps.. as does Flott.

As far as I can tell no SEC team is returning a dominant QB. And each west division contender lost a lot of production.

Whatever. LSU has the same five tough games in 2020 as well always do.. with three on the road. Game two against Texas will be a huge early test as it was last year. Ending with two road games Auburn and TAM will be very different also. But our freshman and new starters will be veterans by then.

Not for me!

We won 3 NC's in my lifetime and we witnessed the best LSU team we will ever see in 2019. If we win another NC in my lifetime great, if not so be it I'm good...

If Clemson, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Georgia, and the Skoal Drool Subhuman Gumpneck Things can reload/repeat/stay in the Top Five etc. after losing quarterbacks, players and coaches, why can't we ?????????

I think if we win 3 out of Texas, Auburn, Florida, A&M and shama, we can have 10-2 year, or even better...
