These comparisons are pointless. The game changes year to year. We think that 2019 LSU team was the greatest, but maybe the 2018 Clemson team runs them off the field. We'll never know. All a team can be is the greatest THAT year.

He is comparing 2019 LSU VS 2020 Alabama. Not the number of NCs since the gumps keep purporting that this years Bama team is better than 2019 LSU team! In addition we played 15 games and 7 top 10 teams. We beat Bama at their home in addition.

I believe 2019 Bama had better talent than 2020 Bama.
2019 LSU beat Bama at their stadium in front of 95,000 fans.
2019 LSU gets the nod over 2020 Bama.

2020 Bama did it against practice squads. 2019 LSU did it by making elite programs look like practice squads.

Exactly

The 2019 team was light years better

I could have sworn it was 48.4 and 48.4 all night on the SEC Rant.

Is the Alabama exaggeration already starting? It's been less than 24 hours.

Haha. They were tracking that? I did see where Bama took a slight edge in ppg, but LSU's offense actually ended up averaging more due to Bama having more defensive TDs this year than LSU's D had last year.

For those saying we played a much tougher schedule, that is not entirely true when you look at opponents records (LSU 117-78)(Bama 77-54) and opponents win% LSU (60%) and Bama (58%)

LSU beat 5 of the final top 8 teams and 7 of the final top 25. Bama beat 5 ranked teams (which is still good), but the top 5 defenses that LSU faced gave up less points than the best defense that Bama faced. Bama only faced 2 top 25 defenses (#14 and #18) while LSU faced 5 top 25 defenses including #1, #3 and #7. The quality of LSU's competition was much better (plus all the opt-outs and COVID players out for teams Bama played).

2019 LSU, the SEC SUCKED AS A WHOLE in 2020, the 2nd best team was A&M and they weren't even that great, LSU and Auburn were shite, Georgia not up to par, Florida no defense, the Mississippi teams didn't amount to shite neither did Tennessee, let's call it what it is: a real talented Alabama team (not as talented as last year's) abused and dominated in a down year for the SEC, played NOTRE DAME in the playoff then routed an undermanned OSU team for the natty who couldn't stop a nosebleed.

Meanwhile, 2019 LSU defeated multiple title contenders over the course of that season, defeated a STACKED Alabama team on their home field, convincingly handled Georgia AND Oklahoma gunning for the natty and achieved a commanding victory over a dominant Clemson team which hadn't lost a game in 2 YEARS, and Joe Burrow's among the greatest leaders of all-time, gimme a break LSU wins

2019 LSU had the better overall season probably but if 2019 LSU faced 2020 Alabama, we're looking at an Alabama 56-45 win. I'm biased of course. So, let the imaginary comparisons continue I guess. Looking forward to 2021. I know the Tigers will come back to form!

No shot. 2019 LSU defense was cranking by the end of the year. LSU’s offense was far more balanced and productive. I don’t see the argument.

So Bama lost like 6 1st rounders and got better? 2019 Bama would stomp 2020 Bama.

The 2019 season LSU opponents won the following:

The ACC
The Big 12
The SEC East
The Orange Bowl
The Fiesta Bowl
The Sugar Bowl
The Citrus Bowl
The Alamo Bowl
The Texas Bowl

7 were ranked in the Top 10, 4 in the Top 4, when they played.

Can anyone give an actual comparison that makes any logical sense of who Bama played this year that makes this a conversation worth having?
