Is it too early to panic about our terrible hitting?

Yes, players like Katz and Jones didn't all of a sudden forget how to hit. And many of the players in the Cape have seen their averages go up in the past few weeks. They have started hitting better.

its not THAT much better. I've watched USC and FL in the tourny, and to see that we used to have hitters like this pisses me off. We have taken a major dive in our hitting. We used to have 9 "mahtooks" in our lineup almost every year

I understand what you are saying, but you are getting a little carried away with this statement.

No we don't have the hitters we used to have and that's due to poor recruiting. I'm not disagreeing there. The players that didn't hit well this past year are not surprisingly not hitting well over the summer.

i'd credit this to coaching too, but i agree with you.

I expect Nola and Hanover to be WAY above where they are. I also have huge expectations for Jacoby Jones, so I'm hoping to see his average improve.

Yeah it makes sense, thats why we fired our pitching coach and kept the hitting coach

You should add Gausman's Team USA stats.

hitting finished the year better off than the pitching....it did make sense, and we had alot more pitching talent

Anybody know if anything is up with JaCoby Jones? He hasn't played in over a week.

Wood bat league. Drops about 25 points off of a hitter's average.

I'm taking Slaid right now over Ross. I'll give up a little defense if I can get some offensive production.

Our hitting is beyond pathetic
I hope our soph pitchers are incredible or we may be in deep trouble.

Yeah I've heard alot of guys are struggling with the wood bats. Although they struggled with the aluminum bats this year too...so I'd say they could be swinging titanium bats and it wouldnt make that much of a difference.

I think our pitching can hang with anyone. It's our bats that let us down.
