there were LOTS of threads about why JJ was needed against every team, every week
And also reasons why we needed JL to beat teams....turns out we were all wrong b/c we aren't 10-0 because of QB play.

When the offense did get the ball, they did pretty good.
We scored 14 points in the 1st half. Against WKU. Even with a TO & a TD drive-which was on the Defense-that's still by far the worst performance out of our offense since we started SEC play this year.
If you say the 1st half was "pretty good" offensive play, then you absolutely must acknowledge that LSU with Lee at the Helm through the meat of our SEC schedule-barring ONE game which he was not allowed to work through struggling in-has played flat out OTHER WORLDLY.
You can't prop up the offense against WKU & then suddenly act like the performance of this offense prior to WKU was non-existent.
That's just being willfully ignorant. I don't mean that as a cutdown. You have to knowingly ignore what we've accomplished as an offense with Lee at the helm this year in order to simply call the WKU with JJ offense "pretty good".
If I give you that they were "pretty good", then it essentially closes the door-completely shut-on the discussion of JJ vs. Lee when you compare what Lee did at the controls prior to Alabama.
Again, one has to be disingenuous to look at the body of work this offense has turned in & then try to say with a straight face that LSU is better off on offense with #9 at QB.

Sustaining long drives?
474yds Total O= Most this year.
291yds Rushing= Most this year.
8yds per play= Most this year
42 points= 3rd most this year.
I know, I know....it was only WKU
Better stats than vs a lesser FCS NSU.
Geuax JJ, geaux Lee.

I think they did pretty good considering they rarely got the ball. Definitely not up to par with Lee's offenses. You can attribute that to the week after the Bama game, or the defense allowing WKU the ball the enitre first half, but they are all excuses. JJ should not be the starter right now. Lee should not play the entire game. Play both QB's, win the NC, and for God's sake bring on the Mett era.

Lee brought us to 10-0. We were winning games in the double digits, with no complaints about the offense.
the last time i checked, lee brought us to 8-0. and most likely would be 9-1 if he were our only option.

Most likely we would not have been 8-0 heading into that game if JJ were our only option.
Each of the preceeding statements carry just as much validity as the other.

Do we not grind out wins with Lee? I wasn't aware that we transform into Mike Leach Texas Tech with Lee in the game...
And Jefferson may be more difficult to prepare for as a player than Lee, but the offense as a whole, with a consistent passing threat, is more difficult to stop, and that's what Lee provides.

Would typically indicate that I was sort've throwing out MSU. We did start poorly.
Oh by the way, Lee finished 21-27 in that game. Though I'm sure Jordan would've played better.
I'm also pretty sure you'd agree that the Alabama game is one we'd all pretty much have to throw out when talking about the relative merits of the kids who make this offense go, since neither of them were worth a hill of beans at doing that against Bama.

I get what you are saying, but Lee actually played, terribly, in the Bama game. So not quite the same.

2 Reasons why JJ has become the starter.
1. Miles wanted it from the get go.
2. Miles wanted it from the get go.
3 Miles wanted it from the get go. Loyalty to JJ, but no layalty to JL for 1st 4 games.

4 SEC teams, two ranked, and one with the nations best defense=WKU?

i am not even sure JL is a better passer.
Surly you jest.

Will all of you lighten up if Lee starts from here on out? What if Miles wanted to start JJ once in his final year of the program? I just think this all premature considering we don't even know who is starting Saturday.

With JJ we lose the Oregon game and possibly WVU.

I'm glad.
Oh, & by the way. Jefferson played-TERRIBLY-throughout 2010. You're right, its not quite the same, but again, your perspective-like many in this discussion-is pretty skewed.
