The move to go with jump was fine. The decision to insert Kling to pinch hit, which moved Brown from center to right, is the major head scratcher

they won with 4...... and only had 2 until the 9th... 3 should have won it.

Ack had just struck out the 3 batters he faced.

Nope. Faced more than 3 batters. There was a walk mixed in and multiple full counts. He wasn't dealing as some people are saying. He was very fortunate to get out of the 8th with no damage.

Facts... the people actually arguing going with a relief pitcher over their ace are dumb.

Then every coach is a moron. No one even fouled a ball of Ackenhouse. He was unhittable tonight.

Questionable, sure. But every move in this situation is questionable. I don't put much blame on anyone. Dutton didn't work, ok. He could have, but didn't. Move on. We were in a bad spot any way we went.
Would I have put Ack back out there for the 9th, yes. But I understand why he opted for Jump. Can't act like Jump didn't have good stuff tonight. They just hit good pitches. Be more upset we lost and less upset at people that were trying to win and just didn't.

Jay did not get out coached this game, I was questioning the quick pulls early but he trusted Hellmers longer than he normally would have, then Ack got us in position with 7-8-9 for our best pitcher all season. Jump just didn’t get the job done. I don’t think anyone thought this game would be as low scoring as it ended up being. Our boys just didn’t make enough plays to win.

Me too but jump had the inning over. Problem is where do you after jumps pitch count got up there. Not knocking the decisions he knows his team better than me.

He walked a guy and got to multiple full counts.

Where the frick is this notion that he was domination coming from?

You had to start the scrubs and hope they weathers the storm and we were in it late game with what good arms we had left. I don’t agree it was the wrong call. We had to pitch our water boys against the #4 team in the nation. We gave it our all. I think taking ack out in the 9th was a way bigger mistake

Kling didn’t come in as PH. He came in as a defensive sub when Frey pinch hit for Larson.

Pearsons defensive positioning in the 9th is one of the most inexcusable things I have seen on a baseball Diamond

Now this is a valid point. Having him that deep was bad.

If the runner was on first it was correct defense. With the runner on 2nd it is batshit insane and horrible coaching

He made the line up and stuck with it. Except bringing in Frey to strikeout.

You could question pinch hitting Frey for Larson. Taking Larson out of the field. Eventually costing on you a run.
