Whats his deal? He had a 4.24 ERA, does he have electric stuff and just couldn't put it together like Reyzelman?

I’m kinda wondering the same thing. His numbers last year at BYU aren’t popping off the charts. Doesn’t even seem like he as of right now is a weekend starter.

46.1 IP, 58 Ks, 25 BB(that’s not a good ratio) and a 4.273 ERA

ETA 25 BB(even worse)

Couldn't find the strike zone in multiple appearances

58/25 is pretty terrible actually. I don’t know the kid or claim to know his upside, but I hope we can get a little better in the portal. Nothing personal.

We need bullpen guys too. Not everyone is gonna be some stud weekend starter.

He's also thrown 6 innings in the Northwoods League and struck out 13 and walked 2.

He struck out more than a batter an inning at BYU.

He's upper 90s.

Too many people are looking for reasons to shite on a kid instead of looking for reasons the staff might like him.

Here's the thing, every pitcher in the portal had warts.

He throws a loose, whip mid to upper 90s. Reyz is more of a stiff, muscle, mid to upper 90s. Primarily a fastball guy, so he can be hit if he doesn't tune up the off speed stuff...like Reyz. He got starts, though, so he's a guy that has tricks in the bag and can extend. Stats very similar to Reyz, and Reyz was a very valuable piece for us especially when not overworked.

He was a freshman.

Dollander at Georgia Southern was 64/28. I'd say he improved with better coaching.

Yeah we do but if we think the guys that will come back, I’m not sure about that. If we don’t lose any other pitchers we have:

Money, Collins, Reyzelman, Gervase, Edwards, Dutton, Taylor, Coleman, Cooper, Hasty.

That’a a lot of potential arms in the bullpen.

Look I appreciate everything you bring to baseball info, but no one is shitting on the kid. I’m just pointing out his stats, which are his numbers. But I do trust Johnson and Kelly.

Not to mention he was a freshmen, this kid has alot of potential to become a starter or solid bullpen piece

I think we all saw the result of using the same bullpen arms every game. Why not more?

I mean, would we not take an Eric Reyzelman again? Keisel is a bigger, better version of what we took in Reyz. I could even argue that the upside is higher.

Hell, we already got 1 so all he needs is one more to be right

Wouldn’t that be a boom that already came? Another arm and a position player

When you isolate his numbers against P5 (ASU, Utah, and OK St) this is what his numbers are:

12 IP, 17 K, 9 BB, 1.417 WHIP, only 2 XBH.

5 innings of shutout ball and 6 Ks against Oklahoma State.

And leaving out his most recent numbers, which look better.

And they aren't exactly difficult to find.

Yes it was the “coaching” he got.

Problem is that most signs point to Reyzelman and Gervase both having a good chance of not being back. The 2 most productive bullpen arms. So reloading there would be nice. Keisel gives you that potential.

Look, I wasn’t leaving out anything. I just showed his overall stats from this past season. You can think whatever you want to think. Why don’t you go ahead and post as well the games he lost that he got shelled in?

I didn’t point them out either.
