LSU coach Ed Orgeron said Tuesday that two or three players are currently out after testing positive for COVID-19.

Orgeron declined to say who tested positive, but added later that the players were asymptomatic and have been quarantined.

ESPN

Luckily only a few guys and it sounds like it's under control. Will be interesting to see how LSU and other teams might have to juggle player availability throughout the season

Could you imagine if we ran a full viral panel on players and made all those who tested positive for a virus quarantine?

It would be roughly 75% of the team constantly quarantined

This pandemic response has been wild

Seems like Deculus who's "out for a little while" would be a good guess

Didn’t we have 30+ test positive a few months ago? Should be safe to say almost half the team has already had it

We had 30+ quarantine. Big difference. That’s a common mistake/media tactic to blow things out of proportion.

Only one or 2 guys had it but there were 30+ guys “exposed” who therefore had to quarantine for 2 weeks

Get them a playbook and they should come back knowing offensive and defensive schemes well after 2 weeks of studying

Every person that develops immunity without bad consequences is good for all of us. One of them being a starting OT prior to the season is a nice bonus.

Im convinced We dont even know what to test for.
Matt Stafford 'tested positive' then immediately tested negative like 5 times....
This is complete retardation at unprecedented levels.

All LSU athletes were tested Sunday for antibodies and active virus. Results came in yesterday.

We needed a chicken pox party about 2 months ago. Losing 2-3 each week would be really tough to work with. Good to hear asymptomatic though. Definitely can't let them go home.

Testing people who have no symptoms is idiotic.

General population, sure. In terms of the football team, I think periodic testing for everyone is the smart thing to do. That way they can hopefully catch any infections and firewall them early to avoid a potential outbreak that jeopardizes a game or the season.

I want football this year, do everything it takes to make that happen.

See anyone outside of football that believes they are better away from a coordinated effort to watch all players and staff closely just hasn’t been paying attention.

100%. They’re much better off in the structure of the football program.

Stuff like this will happen, it’s just another curveball and it’s a good sign that they are addressing it and moving forward.

So these 2 or 3 were just standing around by themselves not interacting with anyone else during team drills? Doesn't make sense. 30 were quarantined last time this happened.
